As hoped
Pretty easy to setup and use as Arduino. I added U8g2lib to my project and was able to plot and draw bitmaps. Its clear and bright. I wrote a custom pong game, and had to use it at the faster clock speed, but I assume that's my code and the Arduino (probably not the display).#include <U8g2lib.h>U8G2_SSD1306_128X32_UNIVISION_F_SW_I2C gU8g2(U8G2_R0, /* clock=*/ 5, /* data=*/ 4, /* reset=*/ 16);

Don’t waste your life for money
We’re supposed to learn and build fun projects. file change all the time don’t waste your money total pile of crap. They won’t send you the information when you email them. Spend days watching YouTube and reading forms nothing works. Buy a Arduino Uno most projects work

Difficult to program
Have struggled with these since I attempted first arduino download - can't get display to work, others suggest that the pinout may be the problem. Despite 6 hours of fiddling, cannot get anything to display.

Great price and OLED really adds some flexibility!
Up front, I struggled with this little part at first because I tried to follow the instructions to set it up and I am an embedded systems engineer with a lot of experience on many CPU/uCPU architectures. I ended up just doing the setup of my IDE on my own and set it up as a generic ESP8266 module and loaded the U8g2 gfx library which is configured with a SINGLE line of code to know with GPIO pins the OLED is connected to. All the default sample code that Arduino IDE installs "worked fine". So don't hassle with the Heltec GitHub code unless you are unable to sleep. To program the device, you must hold down and then release the RESET button as soon as "Uploading..." appears in the Arduino IDE.That said, the device is really nice, great features for the price! Good quality and easy to write code for all aspects of the device that I need. The device pinouts depicted here are ACCURATE. Just remember when you flip it over, to flip the pinouts too, unless you flipped and rotated too. I decided to do some sensor interfacing projects and designed a little project box for it that allows you to use a keystone jack for interfacing. I uploaded this to thingiverse where you can find it and more info, download and print on a 3D printer if you have access to one. You can search probably by the company name in keyword search. More pictures there as well.
