Super Toy, LIGHT coffee machine!
I was looking for a coffee maker that can make McDonald’s coffee like the one you buy at the restaurant. A friend recommended this one and I’m glad I listened! And the best thing about it is it’s SUPER LIGHT!!! I can easily move it near the sink so I can clean it afterwards. Build like toy, but works like magic!!!!!!

Quick & simple, makes terrific coffee!
Hamilton Beach makes excellent products; I had their 2-way coffee maker for about 8-9 years and it just finally quit. I’m the only coffee drinker in the house, and I was tired of the larger footprint from my previous coffee maker (I never used the 12 cup pot, just the single cup side of the machine). I simply wanted to pour one cup of water, scoop & dump the grounds and press “BREW”. This machine fits all my criteria: appears well-made, small footprint, piping hot coffee, quiet, fast brew speed, adjustable cup rest to avoid splashes, filter basket for grounds, automatic shut off, and NO clock! I control the size of the cup from 8-16 oz. Just wanted a quick, simple way to get a hot cuppa joe and I’m delighted. Five stars 7 MO FOLLOW UP— July 2025 still works great! I use it about 3x every day. Update May 2026: still chugging along! I clean it about every month with white vinegar to remove any calcium buildup (my BRITA pitcher doesn’t catch everything), and it works as well as it did 16 months ago. I use it at least 3-4x daily, and can report zero problems. This coffeemaker is the workhorse of my kitchen. When an appliance exceeds expectations, it deserves a great review.

Cheaply made smells like plastic one brewing, very slow to make a single cup
Let me start by saying I’ve always had a Hamilton Beach. I am single and I usually have one or 2 cups a day at Tops. I’ve always had their single serve scoop. The one that has the stainless on the outside. I’ve had three of them not because they stopped working just because over the years even with regular cleaning, they just start to show their age so every three or four years I would replace it. The older version of this one is a workhorse stainless outside quick easy and they stop making it and this is their replacement. And this coffee maker replacement for something good the company had this one is the biggest piece of garbage ever produced by human hands. We’ve all gotten taken when ordering online, but this thing takes the prize. Not only is it so cheaply made with all cheap plastic when brewing it smells like plastic when brewing it drips out so slow and even keeping the cup up close to where the water comes out it’s still sparks out so you get a little spurts and it’s much longer than the original model to make one single cup. Unfortunately, the company again stopped making the previous version all stainless outside for whatever reason I am returning this when you take it out of the box it almost looks like a child’s toy complete garbage now I have to find a replacement another company that makes something similar to what I had.

Perfect For Individual Coffee Making
My wife and I have very different tastes when it comes to coffee and this handy little machine is perfect for our needs. It's got a slim profile and takes up minimal space on our kitchen countertop while having the capacity to brew a 'large' 16-oz single serving. It's simple to operate and shuts itself off after it's done with a simple "Brew" button to activate it. The double metal mesh filtration does an excellent job of keeping the grounds in place and makes cleanup a breeze. They only require a quick rinse under the faucet and a wipe-down of the brewing chamber with a paper towel to keep things running smoothly. The scoop capacity allows us to customize the amount of grounds used in each 'cup' brewed, which is important as she's a 'strong and black' drinker while I prefer mine to be less powerful and mix-and-match creamers for different flavors depending on my mood. It works quickly, taking only a couple of minutes to brew and dispense the cup, and the temperature is hot but not scalding. The two-minute cool-down in between brewing cups means we can enjoy our own preferred drinks together on the weekends while still making that quick cup on demand in the mornings before the workday without having to fight over who goes first.

No more chasing the keurig cups. A good option for using coffee grounds. Morning pleasure again.
I have tried a lot of coffee makers. The coffee pods are expensive and don’t always taste good. I was thinking of stopping the whole coffee chase. Then I met up with a cousin for a beach vacation and she brought a Hamilton Beach coffee maker along. I really liked being able to buy a tasty bag of grounds and scoop coffee into the filter. My coffee was consistently good thru out our vacation. When I got home I decided to buy this coffee maker. I bought a bag of Italian Roast grounds and a medium roast bag of grounds from Trader Joe’s. The coffee making requires adding the desired quantity of water for each cup brewed which is a little inconvenient, as well as cleaning the filter cups after each use. However, I am able to create a consistent cup of coffee every time. It is worth a little inconvenience. The coffee maker is cheaper than all others. I am happier than I have been in a long time. I will see how it holds up but it is not a huge investment if the coffee maker doesn’t work out.

It does what I bought it to do
I figured with the negative reviews there'd be lots of refurbs. Sure enough there are. I don't see the problems talked about in these reviews. This replaces a similar Proctor-Silex machine. Unlike some similar machines the Hamilton Beach does not have a means to use Keurig style pods, it's loose ground coffee only. I don't see any evidence of water leakage or coffee grounds spillage while in use so I don't know what those reviews are talking about. The coffee when freshly made might be a little hotter than the Proctor Silex unit and as hot as I'd want in an insulated mug. Otherwise it would be too hot to drink. I'd buy it again. Edit: After having this coffee maker for a couple months I thought I'd add to my review. It seemed like the machine was turning on without my intentionally pushing the button. It took me a little while to figure out why and it wasn't the machine's fault. When I'd remove the grounds basket I'd unintentionally rest my thumb on the 'on' button. The brewer would turn on but I guess because there wasn't any water in it would turn off almost immediately. However the brewer is designed that once it's powered up and turns off, it won't turn on again for 2 minutes. Unplugging and plugging back in didn't help. So I had to wait for 2 minutes to start a brew cycle. Resting my thumb someplace besides the 'on' switch when removing the grounds basket fixed the problem. It will sometimes splatter a little grounds on the back of the machine during the brew cycle. Easy to wipe off. I did have it overflow once when making coffee. The cause was the secondary filter's screen getting clogged. When emptying the used grounds I now check the secondary filter and rinse if necessary. Problem fixed. It will sometimes drip if I don't leave the cup in place long enough after it turns off. I imagine any single cup brewer is going to have a similar problem. My solution is to keep an empty cat food can nearby. Remove the cup and put the cat food can in its place.

Makes decent coffee, not easy to clean.
This machine is replacing a simple brew coffeemaker. I was looking for taste, simplicity and speed in a model that might actually last longer than a year. I’ve purchased so many, different kinds, and they seem to burn out fairly quickly. The coffee is good, not amazing, the speed probably taking away from that. Each cup takes about 2-3 minutes. The water situation is a little odd. I get a similar size cup of coffee whether I fill for the 8 or the 14 oz cup. Seems hot enough. The drip is messy, splattering around the cup no matter the size. I use a work around with a tall travel mug. After the machine is finished brewing, you get the fun of trying to clean the dual filters, and the part that dispenses the water. Not easy, it’s annoying, and takes more time than it should. It’s still early in the purchase, so I’m hoping to figure out an easier way to clean it. I’ll hang on to it, for now.

Makes a good cup of coffee
This works great for a single cup of coffee. I will tell you do not put more than 2 tablespoons of coffee grounds into the little holder there. Or you will have a mess to clean up. Trust me. 2 tablespoons flat. Not heepung. Not one ground more. It makes great coffee, but only 2 tablespoons, not even one ground more, 2 even tablespoons. I can’t stress that enough. You won’t believe the mess you will have if you overfill that thing. But it does make a good cup of coffee.

It's not fancy, but it's reliable and economical.
Bought this to replace a much fancier all in one name brand that bit the dust by extravagantly breaking apart while spinning its pod. Let's be honest - this is not the fanciest coffee maker on the market. It takes a couple of minutes to brew, sure - but honestly, for the price and the freedom of having a simple mesh basket to use your own grinds, the value for money is absolutely there. Note that it doesn't force water through like a pod system, but is more like a miniaturized coffee maker - not quite as slow as a drip, but it's the same type of brewing, just into a smaller basket. Initially I felt disappointed by the simplicity of this coffee maker, but once I got over myself and realized all I was really missing was marketing and sunk costs from the usual fancy pod systems, I've grown to love this little thing. It makes a good cup of coffee. I find I get the best results with somewhere finer than a medium grind - I'd say a fine(ish) grind level. Really the only (small) sticking point I have is that it has no water reservoir, so you have to fill every time you use it. I can't fault it for that either though, as this means it takes up much less counter space. If you can't justify making a pot a day, this should be all you need. Not to mention that you really get bang for your buck with using your own coffee without having to mess with 3rd party pod adapters or anything like that. I had a 950g tin of coffee last 2.5months using this once daily. This would honestly make a great gift for a student coffee drinker living in a dorm.

CRAP MACHINE!! minus stars
Hands down the worst coffee machine I've ever encountered!! Hamilton Beach what were you thinking! I owned your stainless steel machine for 10 years (THE BEST COFFEE EVER) until it died last week. So I bought this one..thinking its the same machine only in white.I WAS WRONG! Not only did it spit and blow hot water everywhere(Which took 3 to 5 minutes)..NONE OF IT WAS IN THE CUP!! Fustration at 4 am is not my idea of a great way to start the day!!!Don't get me started on your placement of start brew buttons!! Throw this model out and stick to the tried and true stainless steel model. It works..This one BITES THE BIG ONE!!
