Q: What keeps water from pouring out the globe and out thru top of the stake? I don't see any sort of "snap-together" airtight connection?

Simple physics keeps the water inside the globe. Using simple hydrostatics, P1=P0−ρgH

Q: If I use the globe, do I still need to attach a bottle?

No. You fill the globe with water instead of using a bottle. I imagine you could use a bottle instead if you want more water but I find if I water normally and then use the globe, it lasts about 2 weeks.

Q: How big is the globe itself, not including the spike? Trying to figure out if this will look/work right for a hanging plant.

About the size of a baseball or slightly larger. I have several of these and use them all summer for my potted annuals and hanging baskets.

Q: How do I order a replacement terra cotta stake for this version with a 24 oz globe?

I don’t know the answer. Good question though as one day I may need to order replacements myself.
