Durable and my dog loves these.
My Aussie loves this toy. He will retrieve it on land or in the water. I find it easy to throw and can get distance on it. It is not good for tug though, so if you are looking for a tug toy, this will not last, the seams will rip. But as a retrieving toy, this one rocks it! I was disappointed to get a pale lime green one though. I missed the note that said it might be a different color than shown. The blue/orange is much more visible in the water and the snow. I personally will not get another one where I can't pick the color. Wish the seller would have shown both colors in the pictures and let you choose.

My Labrador & I love this toy for the Lake! EASY to see if in Neon Orange!
I'm giving this 5 stars, but rated the Durability & Sturdiness as "4" stars because we haven't had it long enough yet to know. The only Negative so far is that this advertises a Neon Orange color, but I was sent a light green & blue which she can't see in the lake! I went to return it because we already have her Lake Fetch sticks for Free (literally wooden sticks that float). The company contacted me & instead of us Just returning it, they just exchanged it for the color we wanted. Thank you! This is a great floating dog toy! My Labrador loves it! We usually have her favorite sticks in the back trunk for the lake. We still have her favorite floating sticks for the lake, BUT this is SO MUCH EASIER to SEE (IF Neon Orange color!), especially at certain times of the day! It is lightweight & easy to carry. It floats perfectly. Easy to throw far for her! We love the rope on the end too!ANOTHER PLUS! This is SOFT so easier on her teeth! She has had 3 teeth pulled due to issues with partially torn teeth & gums from chewing too hard (probably from hard toys & chew sticks/chew bones when she was younger, (but after her adult teeth came in) - per the vet). I Never knew that hard bones were bad for dogs teeth! They always advertise that they help clean their teeth naturally.I will update the Durability & Sturdiness rating after we have used this for awhile.

Give 4.5 stars for purpose to throw in water
I wanted to give 4.5 stars but they don’t have a half star.I got this toy to throw in the water for my Boston terrier and it’s perfect for it. If you want something to throw out and float for your dog, it’s great for it, but if you want something for tug a war it’s not great for because it looks like it would easily be torn apart.

May not last long, but my shepherd loves it
I have a German shepherd who loves the pool. We live in a desert, so it's a great way to keep him active in the summer. Previously, I would use the orange Chuckit! balls for pool play because they are very durable and they're his absolute favorite, but he would have to bob a lot to grasp them which left him snorting up a lot of chlorine water. I found this product and felt it would be much easier for him to snag from the water. After two hours of play it held up pretty well. But I am worried it won't last long. He loved it, and had a blast fetching it over and over but he clamps down pretty hard when grabbing it. With his large teeth and strong bite, it made a lot of popping sounds as he would swim it back to the steps and readjust his hold on it. He punctured it quite a bit, but it hasn't fallen apart yet. Some of the stitching is coming undone on the blue ends and they are very weak. It may last longer if you can sew. When he gets it out of the water he does squeeze it as if trying to squeak it, but he's good at stopping when I tell him to. It probably wouldn't last an hour if I let him chew it and he's not even one to destroy toys. There's only been a few toys that have broken from him playing and it's almost always because his teeth puncture it and the stuffing starts falling out. Once this happens our golden retriever will take it and rip it to pieces. This one he is not allowed to have without supervision and only in the pool because it definitely won't last. Our golden actually hates the water, so we don't have to worry about her tearing it up.If you have a dog with a strong bite, or one that loves to chew, I'm not confident this will hold up very well. But I still really like it and it makes a great water toy. It's bright, and floats well. It was easy for my shepherd to grab onto without losing it. He loved it and wasn't very happy I took it from him when we headed back inside. If this one falls apart too soon, I may have to find a more durable pool toy.My camera was dead, but I managed to get some pictures from my phone. I included some photos after coming back inside showing the punctures and the broken stitching on one end after 2 hours of play and limited chewing. The damage was mostly from him just grabbing it from the water as I did not let him chew it outside the water for very long.Update 5/22 - added some photos after about 6 more hours of use. It fell apart around the tag and the inside ended up slipping right out. My shepherd ended up still fetching just the inside. I'm sad that it fell apart so quickly and will have to find something that won't unravel with such a short time of play.

The best water toy for retrieving hands down!
I've been using this bumper for over a decade (I've ordered multiples) with my dogs so I have plenty of experience. This is the best water toy for retrieving breeds or any dog who likes to swim. I can throw this further then all the others bc of the rope attached to one end. Twirling it by this rope and releasing it will send the toy flying out over the lake so my best friend can happily retrieve it over and over (and over) again. My buddy looses his mind for this bumper and nom noms it repeatedly as he swims back to me over 50 times a session. Guaranteed to get your lab, doodle, poodle, shepherd (my shep adored it too) or any other breed that loves water exhausted so you can enjoy the rest of your day knowing Coco got a workout. It's durable enough but I only let B have it when we're at the lake and that makes it all the more special. When I see other ppl using sticks to get the same effect I feel sorry for their dogs. Not all sticks are okay for a dog's mouth but also you can't throw them as far and they're not soft yet durable. Don't be cheap with your peppers! Get him/her one. I recommend the neon green color over the orange bc it's easier for dogs to see in the water. Happy dog plunging into the lake!

Puppy loves this thing!
We bought a new German Shepherd puppy and had given him some of our last dog's toys to play with. For some reason he fell in love with this one. Needless to say because it was an old toy from our last dog it was already on it's last leg so we bought 2 brand new ones. Mind you these are not toys! They are actually for training your bird dog to fetch in water. They are built to float, not to be chewed on. That being said, they are standing up very well to the teething of the puppy!
