Expensive for what it is but fits in our outside box so that helps. Cat is using it. Seems to maintain body heat which it what you want.

I'm just getting around to putting it out....believe it will work well enough, and this one is pliable as opposed to the hard shell ones that you can buy. Like this one better.....it's not a "hot hot" heater, as it takes heat from the cat sitting on it and combines it with the heat from this mat....

I’ve bought five or six of these through the years for my now 15-year-old cat.This one warms to barely body temperature and I’ve just paid out $50 for one that does not function properly as a new pad should.when it arrived I put it to one side, grabbed the cat, left home to take care of a friend who was suddenly wheelchair-bound, got him in the hospital then skilled nursing, then took care of him when he came home which took about a month. Now my trial period is over but I plugged it in with total confidence because I’ve had five or six of these before and expected The new one to replace the old one that was no longer heating adequately!Unfortunately, the new one doesn’t even heat as well as the old one I wanted to replace, -my own fault for not taking time immediately to check it out, but it was a matter of priorities, my friend needed help and it was the last thing on my mind that this one would be a dud.Bye-bye 50 bucks!periodwell,

Made my greenhouse into a cat condo and this product keeps him warmer on these cold winter nights. It is placed underneath his bed which is inside an insulated crate. I bought a second heated pad that lies right beside his bed which will hopefully also add some additional warmth. Have used about 2 months and pleased so far. When I go out and pick him up his belly is all warm!

I put this in a cat shelter I bought for my indoor outdoor cats. They love it. I like that it only warms when they lay in it to conserve power. Size is perfect for the shelter I have and the power cord is perfect for outdoor use.

I used these inside and out for the dogs. They are good quality, sturdy and have a nice long cord.

This heated mat is a great size. That's the only pro.Con: Not even warm. Left it plugged for about 1.5 hrs, maintained lukewarm temp. Cat sniffed it, stood on it for a sec, and walked away. He loves heated items (why I bought this)... looks like I will be going back to only sharing my heated blanket. My blanket's low setting is warmer than this. If you add the extra cover, forget it. Can't feel a thing.It would be relatively easy to clean if it needed to be cleaned...if the cats used it.The cord is also pretty short, have to adjust their set up in order for it to reach the outlet.Overall extremely disappointing. Can't wait to get my money back.

I have two cats that started out as outside cats. Then I brought them in for a year. I moved to a wooded property and let them back out. I got tired of cats and all over the bedroom and had no where to place the box. I don't have a mud room or basement. Anyway, the cats were in a quandary about being in or out. They would come in and then cry to go out. It kept me up all night. I felt guilty about leaving them out so I spent two winters barely getting any sleep. I was not really sure where they were sleeping and they were always moving from place to place. I bought the bed and didn't they would figure out what to do with them. Was I wrong. They found the beds immediately and only get off of them to eat and go to the bathroom. This product is amazing. I have no more guilty about keeping them outside and am finally getting sleep this winter. I will note I got them for $20 a piece from Pet Smart online. Sorry Amazon.
