Tarot Purchase
Very elegant black and gilt cards. Would have liked a more substantial booklet.

Beautiful cards
Lovely, quality cards - I’m so happy with them. I also bought a black tarot journal on Amazon with gold coloured lined pages so they go well together. I’ve heard the black cards in this design are quite unusual as they’re typically white, so nice to have something a bit different.

A really special deck
Lovely cards with beautiful foil edges. Rider Wait illustrations but with darker colours. I use these for special readings on full moons

Will send a few pics soon.
Just got the cards. Shame they where badly printed, the gold paint is smudged on the pictures and the back of the cards. I think I can still use them. It was very fast posting.

Poor quality
Absolutely terrible quality. The cards are ridiculously thin and feel cheap. On top of that, some of them have uneven, discolored edges from being cut improperly

I recently purchased the "parchment" looking background version of this vintage-style deck. It took me a couple of weeks to decide whether or not I liked it, but in the end it won me over. (I was a little unsure of the quality at first, due to the cards being thin and some peeling on one of the cards right out of the box.) This version with the black backgrounds looked striking, unlike any of the decks I have in my tarot collection. Since they were fairly reasonably priced (just under $20), I bought them. Some thoughts: -Like the other version, these cards are on the thinner side, but that allows them to be riffle-shuffled really well without bending in a permanent way. Something very satisfying about that "swooshing" sound as the cards blend together. The gold gilding on the sides is beautifully shiny, but will naturally wear away with use. I'm fine with that. -The glossy box is identical to the parchment version of the deck and they're both just called "Craft Cards," so nothing unique about them. However, the design on the backs of the cards is different on the dark and light versions. -The imagery is standard Rider-Waite-Smith, so if you're familiar with that format you'll have no trouble reading these cards. Or they're good for beginners and the basic little white book that comes with the deck will help you get started. -The main factor that makes this deck stand out is the dark/black backgrounds. It's really unique and adds a level of mystery and seriousness to your readings. There are also white streaks or "scratches" across the cards, in different positions. I believe some reviewers thought that was damage, but I feel it's an intentional design choice meant to add to the aged/vintage look of the cards, and I kind of like it! NOTE: Whenever I get a new deck, the first thing I do is look at each card individually to make sure they're all there, to inspect for any defects or damage, and to get a "first impressions" feel for the cards. With this deck, many of the cards were slightly out of order, located two or three positions behind where they should have been. And because of the gilding, they stick together a bit at first. In the end, all cards were present and no damage on this deck. * * UPDATE: I've had this black-background deck for several months now and I'm surprised to admit it has become one of my absolute favorite decks in my collection! I pick it up several times a day for quick one-card pulls in the morning or at night, and often find myself just shuffling it mindlessly while watching TV. It's one of the only decks I have that I riffle shuffle and that's because the cards are the perfect blend of thin enough to bend for that type of shuffling but thick enough to feel high-quality. I still really love the black backgrounds and distressed look. I've changed my rating to five stars!
