Read whole thing. Pros Cons at end.
I love this game. In all ways, it is better than 2015's installment. It is honestly one of the best games of this year. Sure, it has loot boxes. But they aren't more intrusive than Call of Duty's, Overwatch's, or Destiny's. In fact, I have had this game for almost two weeks, have yet to buy ANY loot boxes, and still do amazing in multiplayer. The perks are good and can help, but they are balanced and not game-changing. Is it easy to unlock things and level up? No. You have to grind. And honestly, it's one of the most fun grinds that I've had. Without paying money, I have opened more loot boxes than you would in Black Ops 3 in the same amount of time. In two weeks I have unlocked all heroes, most guns, and most star cards (with some upgraded). There are plenty of challenges that give you rewards, and these challenges are fun and honestly keep me invested in grinding on multiplayer. They're not hard, just long. But immensely fun. The only thing I will say is that gears (which are used to upgrade star cards) are hard to come by until they do something about that. But it's hardly noticeable. And you get one free daily crate.Pros:AMAZING graphics!SPACE BATTLES!Great story that really ties Episode 6 and 7 together while introducing new charactersGreat multiplayer that feels like the originalPlenty of unlockablesWeapons with attachmentsClass systemHero Points that you earn while playing with teammates, near objectives, and getting kills. It's really easy to get heroes. I've gotten 3,000 points in one life (it's 6000 for a hero) and only 3 kills by following the team-oriented formula. I have hardly played a game where I wasn't able to get a hero by the end. And mostly because we won too early lol. They thankfully got rid of that stupid floating emblem systemTeam-orientedGreat music as always!A LOT more heroes and maps than the first oneHeroes are a LOT more balanced than the first game, very fun to play, and allow most of the team to play as one some point during the match.Cons:No Droidekas yet! X(Loot boxes (but if you're that worried about it, let's just all agree not to buy any. And like I said, it's honestly not worth it. You can unlock everything through hard work. Just like every other game. You don't start off in Metroid with full suit upgrades...)Spawns can be weird sometimes and spawn enemies behind you. Though this is only really noticed on Team Deathmatch (Blast)The story is a little dull. It is a good story. But I feel they could have done so much more... But I won't spoil anything...Heroes are map and time specific. In other words, it costs 2000 BP more to buy Darth Maul when you're playing at Starkiller Base from Episode 7, or 2000 more to play as Han Solo at Naboo on Episode 1. While I understand this increases the immersion, I feel it is pointless and gives certain teams more of an advantage when they have more heroes for that era. It is 6000 for the right time and map heroes and 8000 for wrong heroes. And this is fine if it weren't for the fact that sometimes there's only one hero that is 6000 and sometimes all but one of them is 6000. Let's say we're at Starkiller Base. On the Dark Side you have Kylo Ren as 6000, everyone else is 8000. On the Light Side, you have Rey, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Leia, and Luke cost only 6000, everyone else is 8000. See the advantage? And since heroes are more likely to die and not as overpowered as the last installment, this inclusion of triage is honestly too much. I admire the fresh idea, but it's pointless and should be fixed. All in all, some flaws yes, but honestly one of my favorite games out there right now. And definitely one of the best of this year.

Starwars Battlefront 2 Crap Or Gold?
Well its better than the mess that was Starwars battlefront 1Let me be clear, im only giving it 5 stars because of the 1 star ratings that obviously only complain about the microtransactions and things, which I will get to in this review. My real rating for this game would be a 4 out of 5 though. It would be a 3 out of 5 if I didn't get triggered by the microtransactions. I don't like them but they don't bother me so much that I have to give a one star rating.Story : well its there, honestly nothing special as the AI is brain dead when it comes to shooting so you will advance through it pretty quickly. If anything the story campaign serves as a sort of tutorial for multiplayer.Gameplay - well there is tons of improvements to the game. The ground gameplay is great as you npw have the old point system which yes the original starwars battlefront 2 also had. It works better than just picking up those stupid powers on the map. There can even be up to more than on hero on the map so its not limited. With the introduction of having acutal classes this time just makes it so much better than having to customise your character to fit a certain playstyle in the last one. Space battles are easiest the best mode in multiplayer, feela nice and big thanks to having also bots included in the space battles. To bad ground combat needed bots, idk why not include them. So we have a few heros here and a few new ones for obvious cash in for the current new trillogy. Hey the online seems to be stable somewhat too, at least it hasn't crashed on me. Oh and there is also arcade mode for doing challenges and earning credits. Tons of maps this time around, 18 planets I think, with 4 being exlusive to story mode. So yes there is a ton of maps this time. There is also free DLC to come in the future, which is VERY nice.Graphics - Never complained about them and still haven't. Dice knows how to make it pretty at least, not so much immersive with unnecessarily large maps with very little players on the field....Sound - it works, it has all the authentic sounds you would expect from starwars.Negatives - Obviously microtransactions, its just not needed here. Please EA control your greedy attitude... But no thanks to that and the stupid ass loot box that gives you pointless things. Credits are honestly not easy to earn, even with regular matches and you need them to unlock the heros which by the way are ridiculously expensive. Speaking of the heros, some of the choices of them are just odd..... I get having ray and kylo but some random lizard bounty hunter that died so quickly in episode 4-6 trillogy? Comander Lea? What...? Why no count duku or general grevious? Freaken dark maul and yoda are the only heros from the 1-3 episode trillogy.... What the hell. I get that you want more "new" heros but your neglecting the prequels too much. I hope they will added more heros via free DLC. Anyways those are the main issues at it stands, I hope at LEAST they can fix the credit earnings better than what it is now. It IS a GOOD game, but the whole microtransactions nearly break the entire experience that dice has made. Either you boycott the game or just don't pay for microtransactions. The practice needs to die, particularly EA. EA has a gambling problem and it shows with ALL their new games.

Great game.
Got it really fast and still had the code. All in all a great game but not sure how I would've felt if I paid the full price. Kinda sucks that you have to have a psn membership to fully access the game unlike the first one.

Improves on what was lacking in SW Battlefront I, but has it's own issues.
SWBFII is enjoyable, but of course, not perfect. The addition of a campaign is a big win over the first version. The story was entertaining and interesting, but a little lacking at times, and too short (IMO). I appreciate the addition of an expanded story in the first major update and hope there is room for more in the future. As for the multi player...loot boxes suck. I think that's been well covered. The daily requirement to log in to help advance is really annoying. I'd like to see a little bit of a cache build up in case (god forbid) you take some time off from playing. EA needs to finalize plans for crystals. I have them, can't use them. They need to finally sort these out (just kill them and increase crafting). I do find the requirement to "accept" rewards to be really annoying. Why make players dig through menus to get credits or crates released? Other than that, the overall multiplayer is well done. I like the longer maps and find the goal based play to be lots of fun.You can focus on eliminations or objective based play, which is nice. All the maps look great and defiantly have upped the detail. I've also really enjoyed the arcade mode for offline play.If you enjoyed SWBF1, were looking for bigger, better maps, and a campaign, you will enjoy this version.
