I'm using this to adjust the base pointing of a SeeStar 50 astrophotography telescope. The main requirement is that the tilt head by solidly built and permit smooth adjustment of elevation and azimuth, then stay locked. Met all those. The expending handle helps with making small adjustments, and the damping on both axes seems just about right. I like that both bottom and top connections are 3/8 inch. One small problem for this particular use is that the quick-release plate needs to be carefully centered on the telescope base so as not to interfere as the telescope rotates. Overall, I'm very pleased. This speeds up my setup.

I bought this to sit on a c stand for a home office setup. It works well as it allows for a quick release plate, friction arm mounting via the rosette mounts, smooth motion, and well balanced.

The head is very steady. It is well balanced and will not suddenly drop forward or backwards. I like the telescoping arm, too! Makes carrying/storing more compact.

SOMETIMES YOU'RE A FEATURE. Anti-tilt springs fight gravity as you tilt a heavy assembly forward, increasing friction lock stability. SOMETIMES YOU'RE A BUG: At the end of a level boom those springs work exactly against you (additive with gravity's leveraged pull). Either you are at maximum spring when your load is upright, or without any spring assistance when your load is fully horizontal. THE WINDSHIELD is my macro rig pitched forward 45 degrees. The spring head's (anti-)assist spring plus substantial torque of my gear seeking earth. I cannot make the friction lock hold. PROs: - Flawless for top-of-tripod use - This unit's a beefy chonk block, very little flex under force - Side-switching, angle-rotating, entend-remove control arm is money in tight/technical positionings - Huge switching plate is a nice base for a big rig, with very easy and safe lock/release TLDR; Unsuitable for end-of-boom operation at stated capacities without modification.

Update: have I had a problem and the seller sent me out a new tripod head. I was so happy. But this head also has a problem with the receiver plate. After the second time, I figure I had to leave a neutral review. I had this tripod head for about a year, and one of the levers broke which rendered the head useless. I rode into the seller and asked them if they can help me out. They responded quickly and told me that they would send me a replacement and that they stood by their products, I’m happy to say that they replaced it for me so that I could get right back to work. Great customer service. I will continue to buy from Cayer.

Why spend crazy mo ey for a pan and tilt head when this is on the market. I have been using crazy expensive gear for 25 years and finally needed a small yet workable head. This is it. I love the 1/4 20 thread on the side for an extension arm or other accessory. Put one more on the opposite side and this product is a home run

Prodotto amatoriale, peso importante e sensazione di solidità impressionante. Montato per prova su un manfrotto befree, quindi un treppiede portatile, si è adattato perfettamente senza creare scompensi , ben bilanciato. Strategica la scelta di inserire la chiave a brugola direttamente in un vano apposito della testa video. Splendida la frizione per i movimenti in verticali (TILT), mentre, per i movimenti orizzontali, destra-sinistra (PAN) l'ho trovata un poco dura, anche se non ho notato impuntamenti o indecisioni nella manovra. Comoda e funzionale la leva del comando estensibile. La portata di sicurezza dichiarata è di ben 8 kg., il che lo pone ad un buon livello operativo, ovviamente amatoriale e non professionale, ma il prezzo è più che adeguato. Mi riservo una prova più accurata sul campo, per ora devo dire che il prodotto è più che soddisfacente, con un prezzo, grazie anche ad una scontistica amazon, molto concorrenziale.

J'utilise la tête vidéo Cayer K6 pour mes observations à la longue vue. Excellente tenue et fluidité, très confortable à l'usage. Le produit paraît très qualitatif. Je viens de commander un second exemplaire pour un ami.

Buena calidad para el precio, muy robusta. Una pena que no tenga ajuste para las tensiones y fricción, tanto del Pan cómo el Tilt. Pero para el precio es una cabeza muy buena, no le tiene nada que envidiarle a otras cabezas el doble de caras, siempre y cuando no te importe lo de las fricciones... Utiliza estafas de tamaño estándar. Yo la he podido utilizar con estafa de Trípodes Satchler y SmallRig, y sin problemas. No he probado con estafas de marcas de estabilizadores, pero seguramente sean compatibles.

...zum kleinen Preis, es ist kein Sachtler oder ähnliches, aber das ist für diesen Preis auch nicht zu erwarten. Ich habe es mit einem Manfrotto 055 verwendet. Es wirkt robust, die Klemmung ist stabil und sicher, einen gänzlich ruckelfreien Schwenk mit einer leichten Kamera habe ich nicht ganz hinbekommen. Die Friktion lässt sich nicht wirklich einstellen, es hat schon ein gewissen Losbrechmoment und das sieht man (Ich habe allerdings keine Erfahrung als Filmer ich bin Fotograf und brauchte das für ein Projekt).
