Excellent value compendium of Gershwin material from 1920s+

Don't think about the era these tunes come from, think of the quality of the music and the arrangements.Anyone, from classic jazz to modern pop can get arrangment inspiration from this book (also Porter, Berlin and others of the era). This was a classic period of music arrangement and anyone can learn from it.For those who just want some Gershwin classics, this will do it.Terrific book

Contents as written by thes over reviewer, lots I knew and some new ones too. I really like the arrangements, vocal line is contained in the piano par but is also scored separately. Chords are accurate and complete too. I would suggest difficulty is about 5 fror some, maybe up to 7 but soooo delicious its worth some effort.The only thing that could be improved would be the tight binding that is a nightmare on music stand. I do wish all music books were ringbound...Nether the less, well worth buying

Well printed and accurate scores(as far as I can tell and hear). Gershwin was a ground breaker in not only popular music but I think in other genres. His use of harmony is simply amazing on some tunes - take a look at Fascinating Rhythm. F sharp in the bass of a C major chord (bar 3). I'll be using that!

Partiture precise

Ein schöne Ausgabe der "ach-so-berühmten" Musik. Das Notenbild ist wunderbar übersichtlich, bei der Taktverteilung pro Seite könnte man sich allerdings mehr an der musikalischen Form orientieren, die ja in den meisten Fällen von einer Viertaktigkeit (pro Zeile) ausgeht. Die Klavierspieler würden sich freuen, wenn die Seiten nicht so fest gebunden wären, damit man die Noten auf einem Notenständer unterbringen kann und die nicht zu schnell runterfallen.

Dieser Liedband von George Gershwin enthält alle Lieder des Komponisten, die ein Sänger gerne singen mag. Nicht nur die berühmten Songs, sondern auch weniger bekannte Schätze kann man in dem Band entdecken. Es handelt sich um eine sehr schöne, hochwertige Ausgabe - wie alle Bände aus der Reihe!
