Works perfectly
This drive was installed in a Synology DS216 network drive enclosure, along with a 1TB drive of a different type, and it works fine to produce a 3TB network drive (no RAID).

I always buy WD Hard Drives
I have used WD & Hitachi drives for many years & both of them are excellent products.

Storage never what you pay for.
Great product as external HDD for my NAS and more stable and quiet than the previous Seagate I had. But was annoys me so much is the fact that I pay for 2TB, but actually only have 1.83 TB to use. Basically I feel ripped off as I'm missing near 120GB of space that I could desperately use. Now I need to play around as my HDD is already near its limit and I have much more to store.

Second Hand Drives
Drive was acceptably packaged and seems to work ok, if a little noisy. The drive reports that it has been in use for nearly three years though. Fraud. Simple as that. Will be returning

Nope - twice
I've returned 4 x 2TB drives twice. One of each set of four had bad sectors, as reported by a brand new Synology NAS -- different bay each time, so disinclined to attribute the issue to the NAS itself. It's probably worth mentioning that I ordered component boxed drives and they arrived clattering around in a box that was large enough to put a small microwave in, with about five of those useless plastic bubbles to keep them company. BOTH TIMES. Decided against ordering a third set from Amazon and saved £40 by buying 4 x 3TB Red drives from elsewhere -- where they packaged them properly for shipping!

Slows the computer down
Generous storage however slow and causes the computer to crash. Not so straightforward to install, had to use the internet wisdom to be able to install it

Surpris par l'étonnant emballage du vendeur : en fait super efficace ! La réputation du produit n'est plus à faire, rien à ajouter, if faut que je le monte

I really like these drives. The fact that they are designed to run 24/7 provides confidence in data security. I bought 2 of these for my NAS and 2 more as extra backups. There has been zero issues with them. I do recommend these drives.

This drive worked perfectly upon installation and I've had no problems with it in over 2 weeks. I'm using it for Time Machine backups via an external disk attachment on a 7 year old Mac. Time Machine runs about once an hour. However, I noticed that some reviewers are complaining about the noise on this drive and I want to use my IT professional background to give some insight into what might be going on for them so that others can make an informed decision on this drive. I have the 2 TB drive. I don't personally find this drive to be loud and it's running in an external disk drive enclosure. It runs about once an hour for however long Time Machine needs to run. When the drive is in use, it does make some noise, but it can't be heard at all outside of the room it's in. I sleep in the room next to where it lives and both rooms are always open and I've never had this drive make enough noise to be heard beyond maybe 7 feet from it and it can barely be heard at that distance. So why are some people complaining rather bitterly about how loud this drive is? First of all, it's an old school mechanical drive. It will make some noise when in use. That is the nature of these drives. And the more you use them and the more filled up they get, the more likely they are to make some noise on use. It is also possible that some drives off the manufacturing line are better than others, some are worse, and some of the people who complain just by bad luck got a noisy one. I don't find the noise I'm hearing to be unusual for this type of drive. I've heard a lot worse. Also, if someone is going to use this drive with a lot of file deletions and additions, it's going to make more noise. My suggestion for people who are extremely noise sensitive is to consider paying more and using SSDs instead. They won't make any noise. This drive has worked exactly as I intended it to work and I would recommend it to others. Again, please note that this is a mechanical drive and its lifespan is expected to be much lower than that of an equivalent SSD. You should probably think about replacing it after 3-4 years whereas for a 2 TB SSD, ,in theory you could get decades of heavy use before it goes bad. That's why SSDs cost more.

Using 4 of them in my nas in raid10. It stores photos and videos from our phones and not super heavily utilised but hasn't missed a beat in a year.
