Already had one of theses on our old single axle caravan. Easily fitted so I brought a second one for fitting to our new twin axle caravan, (you need a device on each axle for insurance), Easily installed and the insurers are happy.

Bought this to comply with the requirements of my insurance for the van. Have owned other types of wheel lock or clamps previously and this one is certainly the easiest to use. The AlCo device is too fiddly and really needs two people to apply whereas this is easily done by me alone. It's hard to give it five stars for value for money although in fairness it's very well constructed. The amount of material in it however doesn't warrant a price tag of over £100. Security wise it's a recommended product by most insurers but untill some tries and fails to steal my van I cannot give it an objective personal assessment. Having said all of that, of all of the products I have used or seen, this one seems to be the best.

OK so here we go Pros It is small relatively light If you are picking up a new van your dealer will fit the locking nut for you When the nut is in the right place it fits in easily Cons I have a Bailey Modena and it has curved alloys, this does not like curved alloys! It wants to sit flat but of course it cannot. Manufacturer recommends that the end with the stick should be tight to the wheel to stop someone crowbar-ing it off - however this is not possible, with the tyre sticking out a bit combined with the curving alloy it is almost impossible to get the thing on let alone straight. You need to put on so many washers to fit it to your particular wheel. No problem I thought and duly did so. Then followed the epic pain in the bum where every time we stopped or parked the nut was in a different place - the washers would not let it seat so there went another 45 minutes taking it apart and changing it again. This happened 4-5 times, so many in fact I put my garden kneeler in the bag to save my knees! in the end we decided to accept that it was going to be floppy sometimes and tight others. Once the washers were sorted we encountered another issue, if the nut at 6 o clock it is virtually impossible to fit as the long stick hits the chassis. It took us ages and it meant that instead of the stick where it is on the picture it ends up near the i in nemesis and therefore only just in ist slot. It works but ~i am not sure if it is really safe or not. We still use it, after all we paid for it now! it looks good enough, and would put off most thieves but I am fairly certain this is not working the way it should - good job we also use a easy neat super secure hitchlock!
