Affordable and works well

Works perfectly. Came with a CD that I have not used and had no documentation (who uses CD-ROMs anymore?). I used this with the CHIRP software you can get free online. Did exactly what I wanted with my Baofeng UV-5R. And, trust me on this, you do NOT want to try programming the memories in your UV-5R manually. You have to enter each frequency of a repeater pair individually, because the radio ignores the offset setting memory mode. Why? I have no idea. But it does. Using CHIRP and this cable lets you forget all about that noise, however.

Seems pretty essential with most models of Baofeng radios. It's a tedious process to manually program your radio for stations used by local emergency preparedness groups. This one connects to your laptop. (or maybe phone or other devices with an adaptor). Jorin approved.
