I'm a long time RING doorbell user. We have had a lot of disconcerting reports of strange and criminal events in our area so I wanted to upgrade to the floodlight cam to make a visible deterrent. I purchased the certified refurbished one which saved nearly £80 against the new one and it is completely brand new. The key features of picture quality and motion detection give it perfect functionality enhancing our security as required. I have mesh WiFi so connecting it was simple but it does need a good connection so bear that in mind. All in all and great purchase.

I bought this to replace our old security light at the side of the house and also as it has the camera it has been added to our other ring items on our account.Fitting was a breeze as I already had a wire running to where I was installing this and it worked straight out of the box and connected to my WiFi and existing system with no problems.Not sure if the video image would be clear enough for any real use if we were unfortunate enough to be burgled but I far prefer having it in place than not as any help for the police is better than none. I have fitted this at about 3m high (maybe a bit higher) so it is pushing the level of detail of anybody walking past a bit, but I am more than happy with the installation.

I had already purchased two of these devices brand new, during a special promotion at a different retailer at the end of 2023 at a price of £99.99, and the setup process worked flawlessly. I needed one more device, but there weren't any promotions, and I didn't want to pay the full price of £179.99. So I ordered one of these "certified refurbished" devices. Big mistake. I will not be buying any more Amazon "certified refurbished" Ring devices in the future. My product arrived in a plain brown box, which was absolutely fine. I had ordered the white version. I noticed that the fittings which screw the device onto the backplate were the black ones, even though the product was white, so this was the first issue, although not major. I had some spare white ones from the two which I had purchased brand new previously. I was able to do the physical installation without any problem. But when I came to try and set it up, it just wouldn't work. I kept getting an error message saying "Unable to join the network Ring Setup e1". I tried it multiple times, using two separate devices. I tried resetting the Ring device. I tried rebooting my iPhone. Still no luck. In the end, I had no choice but to send it back. I spoke to Amazon, and they offered to send a replacement refurbished device......... in 7 weeks' time! I had already read some reviews of these "Certified Refurbished" Ring cameras, where some people seem to have received brand new, unopened devices ; and others have received devices which have been already used to varying degrees, some of which were still linked to the account of the original purchaser. So it seems to be complete luck of the draw. If you're willing to take a chance, maybe you'll get a great price on a device which is still in its original sealed packaging. Or maybe you get a complete dud, like I did. This is the last time I will buy any such "Certified Refurbished" Ring device.

Had 2 of these, already had 2 old ones working for a few years. Installed the new ones and started the app and used the QR code on the booklet. One came up a registered to someone else and the other wouldn’t connect. Spent 1 hour with Ring Support. 30 days to transfer ownership and I was told to return the other one as faulty. Ring also checked the serial numbers on the boxes and told me there was another owner. I had a brand new one bought a few months ago and not installed. I made up a temporary lead to power it up and the installation process went smoothly. So I swapped that one for the “other owner” one. Before contacting Amazon I connected it to my temporary power and scanned the QR code on the back of the camera. It worked!! So did the faulty one!! Lesson learned is that the QR codes on the camera don’t match the instruction booklet. Set up a temporary power supply and scan in comfort, rather than 3 metres up on a ladder!!The old Gen1 camera had more vibrant colours than the new Cam Plus, so a little disappointed.

Great product, much cheaper than usual, as it us refurbished, but u can't tell. Perfect condition and packaging.

Brilliant price for the camera. Works as it should.
