– Metal Polish Wadding, 75g

Great product that works well cleaning metal items.

Absolutely without peer. This wadding, impregnated with brass metal polish, make short work of years of tarnish, dirt, mild scratches and brings a lovely shine to brass (and possibly other metal) surfaces. Wear gloves or get the removed debris all over your hands. A good yellow duster will enhance the shine. Protects the surface. Used regularly, it keeps brass looking new. It's simple enough to pull off a small piece (I used a size like my thumb) and rub hard. It will last for years and it's inexpensive.

As shown in the pictures, Brasso has improved the condition of my old compass after just one application. The surface looks brighter and cleaner. However, it is more difficult to use on areas that are complicated to reach because the wadding breaks down quickly into small pieces and tends to get stuck. Even so, the compass already looks much better than before. I will certainly need to repeat the application, but I prefer to wait until the weather is warmer because using it indoors is problematic due to the fumes and when I polished the compass outside in the garden my fingers became stiff and I felt cold. Overall, Brasso is a good product, but there are some important points to keep in mind. It should not be used indoors because of the fumes. There is also an environmental factor since the wadding is soaked with chemicals and must be handled with care. Gloves are essential, ideally disposable ones. Finally, the wadding falls apart quickly and becomes less useful. For smooth surfaces it works well, but for my compass with all its small details it is more challenging.

This Brasso Metal Polish Wadding is amazing! It was really easy to use and worked better than I expected. It removed all the dullness and tarnish, bringing the original colour and shine back just like new. I used it on several metal items around the house, and they look fantastic now. A little goes a long way too, so the 75g tin lasts quite a while. Definitely recommend it for anyone who wants to restore their metal surfaces to their original shine!

Nothing it's Brasso been going for years

The wadding doesn't go very far. Tried not to use too much at once but it goes black and disintegrates very quickly. I think I would have been better buying the regular stuff and using a cloth. Does polish though.

I didn’t read the description properly when I brought this item but pleased with it all the same. It’s a tin of a continuous roll of pre soaked material with brasso on it. You just tear off as much as you need for the job. I guess it saves the need to find a piece of cloth to apply the brasso. Very effective on brass as you’d expect, but I think it’d be better value to buy a tin of liquid brasso, and use a rag.
