Solid oak
This product fits in with our basically oak modern lounge and will when stained match the other oak furniture we have.The oak is quite damp so we expect it to split a bit when it dries.We will probably use an oil to finish it but it could be left as is.It is basically a lump of wood planed sanded and edges knocked off, The photo looks as though it is tapered but it is not.It is surprisingly stable and we propose to use it as a table beside our chairs.We have since bought two more of these as they fit in so well.Now two weeks old and not split as much as we thought they would. They appear dry so we will oil soon.

Nice product but that's where it ends
The product is dispatched with only a single layer of bubble wrap which in my case had been torn during transit allowing the exposed surface to become dirty.To compound matters the delivery driver left the product on my doorstep while it was raining despite it being blatantly obvios that wood was exposed to the elements.I have made a complaint via Amazon but have yet to hear from the supplier which I would have expected to have done so despite the Christmas break.A little bit better packaging and the problems could have been resolved and it would probably be a 4 or 5 star review.

Is what it is
Came quickly and is what it says on the tin. Didn't expect it together so heavy though. It has started to take on a character now as it has cracked in natural places in the wood

Excellent
Ordered despite a few poor reviews about the quality of the wood. Really nice grain, couple of small splits but that's what makes it unique and natural!...Looks great when waxed, really brings out the colours/grain and shows of our lamp beautifully....Thank you

wide cracks
Appreciate that this is a natural product and there will be cracks, but the width of the cracks can fit two pound coins in. Very disappointing and can only add this comment to a similar remark from another buyer.

Excellent lamp stand
We have this on the landing and as space is limited it fits perfectly in the corner. Comes unfinished so requires oiling or varnishing, but well worth doing.
