This docking station doesn't work with Surface Pro 9, the unit heated up to a level I was alarmed that it would go in fire or melt the cables I had plugged into the docking station. There was a message continually appearing on my Surface 9 screen stating 'charge too slow, continue to use the charger that came with your surface pro'. Also the 2 additional 4 k monitors I connected via the docking station where getting an intermittent signal, flickering off & turning black/blank. I have messaged the seller via Amazon 24 hours late I await a response. Hopeful I will get a swift resolution & refund. Will update review when resolution has been agreed with Don River. I suspect the original Microsoft docking station is the way to go.Update 06/07/23 - Three weeks later & what a complete disaster of a company to deal with, utter refusal to accept liability for the charging hub/dock being faulty & following many messages to & forth, they repeatley asking silly questions 'is magnetic strip properly plugged in?' my patience has run out!Stay clear of Don River & regrettably for the seller I am reporting to Amazon Customer service & asking for a refund. Lesson learnt.... don't buy inferior Chinese manufactured goods & pay the little extra for the genuine article!

I don't fully understand this hub to be honest. There are plenty of USB hubs out there that only use 1 port and give you access to many more ports than this one does - So why does it need to occupy both USB-C ports?It's easy to use as it simply plugs into your laptop, and of course means it takes up less space than a wired hub. However, this is at the cost of specificity, as you won't be able to use this dock with any other device unless it has 2 USB-C ports with the exact same distance as the Surface pro 8.There's really no need for there to be a USB2.0 port when it could have easily been USB3.0, it's not like there are 15 ports and the device needs to save on bandwidth. The HDMI slot only supports 4K@30hz, which isn't great to be honest when there are plenty of hubs out there supporting 60hz for the same price.Overall, I think this is an expensive hub which will only work with a surface laptop. I think it's an ok product, but I personally wouldn't recommend it as there are far better alternatives available on Amazon.

I ordered this Hub to provide more connection options for my Surface Pro 8 and I have not been disappointed. I liked the idea of having a hub which fits snuggly to the Surface device and does not hang on a cable so this is ideal. The hub seems well made and is light and neat, it provides a good selection of connection options: USB, HDMI, USB 3.0, Thunderbolt, USB 2.0 and has a TF reader on one end.It fits securely to the side of my Surface using the two USB-C Thunderbolt sockets. It does not protrude too far and feels well attached during use. I have used it to transfer images from a USB stick and TF card to my surface and have used the HDMI to connect a monitor with no issues. The data transfer speed seems good although I have not measured it as it did the job rapidly enough for my needs.It matches my Surface Pro well and for the price seems good value when considering the array of options it provides to expand the connectivity of my device. Very happy with this hub and have no hesitation recommending it, hence my five star review.

I had to remove the expensive protective case I'd bought for the multimedia docking station to dock successfully.I have to look at how much loss of protection they'll be if I trim the protective case to enable docking.Apart from that big disappointment it seems to work fine as far as I have ascertained.
