XDrum TB1 Bamboo Timpani Mallets Felt Pair

Absolutely the best mallets I've use. The lightness of the bamboo creates a more resonating effect allowing the cymbal to breathe in sound and decay.

The stems are bamboo and nicely lightweight, however the heads are NOT felt, more like cotton wool.I've used these a couple of times at band practice(for lighter/more atmospheric moments on cymbals and toms) over the course of a month or so and they are already falling apart after maybe less than a couple of hours playing time in total.I'd doubt they'd hold up on orchestral/big-band timpani for even one concert.

I use these both with my shamanic leather drum and with the synthetic buffalo drums (16 and 22 inches). The sound is very good, without the "tock" one sometimes can hear with harder mallet sticks. Also, the bamboo lies very nicely in my hand - it has a tiny bit of elasticity, which makes drumming very dynamic.

Perfect! These are light weight but have a good firm mallet. Ideal timpani equipment.
