Sakura Pigma Micron 005 Black Pen 0.2mm Line Width Pack of 4 (005)

I run a group home for the elderly and disabled. I write down everything I do from the time that I wake to when I lay down to sleep. For the past year, I've used Pilot G2 Ultrafine 0.38mm pens and each one only lasts 30-50% of its ink before the tiny bearing in the ballpoint fails. I thought the first failure was a fluke, but three others have suffered the same fate. The G2 Ultrafine also didn't allow me to write clearly for the (sometimes) 16-hour days that need to be recorded in three lines of a pocket-sized schedule book. Most people say "Well, get a bigger book." That'd be great, but I need this item on me at all times and I require something that fits in cargo pants. I told my grandfather about these G2 pens breaking and he handed me his 6-pack of Sakura Micron art pens. Of course, I picked up the finest one and wrote a sentence at my normal size on a piece of scratch paper. Impressed by the clarity of the 005 0.2mm model, I wrote one more sentence beneath it that was 40% smaller. The sentence I wrote was "This is the real test." Sure enough, the writing was clear and legible. No one else in the room could read the writing, but he was glad that I was impressed. He offered that pen to me and I replied "I wouldn't want to break up the set." I pulled up the Amazon app on my phone immediately and ordered this 4-pack of the 005 Micron pens. I've been loving them ever since. Some tips for longevity of these pens: 1. Do not store them upright with the tip up. The ink will run away from the tip and it'll take time to run back when used. I store mine on its side or tip down. 2. The tip for these pens is very small and fragile. Write gently with it. Applying extra force is not needed. I write delicate enough to mark on a butterfly's wing without hurting it. Even still, it writes bold and clear.

i draw funny animal cartoons a lot, these work really well even on just copy machine paper, and can use water based or alcohol felt tip markers to color the drawing with out the ink running or smearing. these are good pens

I LOVE LOVE LOVE these Sakura Pigma Micron 005 Pens in Black. If a pen could make me squee with joy, these could. While I am not a pen connoisseur, I am very picky and have tried and discarded many (neat handwriting is my jam). The fine tip is perfect for me and they write smoothly without any drag, ink splats or smears. Perfect for writing in your Bible, journaling, or taking notes. I haven't tried the colored pens yet but hope to soon.

I’ve been using these pens for eight years since I started calligraphy and Bible lettering. They are my go to, and they never let me down. The .005 is perfect for taking lots and lots of very small notes with the thin Bible, pages, you can see through the other side that there is writing, but it doesn’t bleed onto the page. It’s perfect for hand lettering or just taking tiny notes.

The gold standard for permanent pens, but can be scratchy feeling on some papers.

I compared it with the Uni-ball Signo RT1 Retractable Gel Ink Pen, Ultra Micro Point 0.28mm felt that the unibazl came really close to this one. Only thing was the Uniball 0.28mm did seem to bleed minutely when I wrote micro words see image, I took a very close image to show but those are really written in micro letters so we decided to go withe Sakura Pigma. As far I noticed pigment ink is completely waterproof, quick-drying, fade-resistant, and chemically stable. Once it dries, you can layer watercolors or heavy markers right over it without any bleeding or smearing. I needed these for hyper detailing, perfect for cross-hatching. Zero bleed-through, great precision. Pricewise its okay too, only this is the tip is not protected against drying like the Uni but probably this tip is different and overtime if I don't open the other pens coz at a time I use one, I hope the ink stays put and doesn't dry out. Another thing is the tip is very soft coz its a fine felt tip it can bend easily under pressure so write gently.

These would be great and get five stars if the ink would have lasted as long as other micron 005 I have purchased from other sellers. They arrived in a ziplok baggie which I assumed was no big deal and they were probably just wholesale and so they may be split up like that. I am so disappointed I ordered two packs and they didn't last. The ink dried so quickly and so the lines didn't look right. The tips didn't appear damaged when the ink stopped as I am very delicate and meticulous with these pens. I think I will be ordering official packaged if wholesale is not as good quality. I also noticed the caps do not click when I try and put them on like my other micron pens. So they seem to dry quicker. Makes me think the seal may not be great.

The pens are fine; what I expected. However, they're advertised as '2 black & 2 brown'. I received 4 black. I didn't even need any black, but couldn't source the brown only, so ordered all 4. Disappointed to not receive the brown.

Lovely for ink and wash pictures. You can wet them and they don't run. Good value, quick drying and they help define a sketch.
