Purchased this after we changed the cage and unfortunately the large wheel we had no longer fit inside, so we wanted another way for the hamster to exercise.5-minutes after we put the hamster in this ball she was off and running around all over the house and now begs daily to be let out of her cage to play in the ball, she absolutely loves it, even if she does keep running in to walls and my feet. Having the hamster now running "rolling" freely around the house feels like we have a cat or dog in the house that's constantly under your feet, but she is happy and that's all that matters.The ball has some give so it won't easily shatter or break when banged in to walls, the lid screws in nice and tight and it has air vents all around it, very sturdy. We tried other hamster balls but they were far too small, this 7-inch ball is the perfect size for our adult Serian Hamster.Very happy with this purchase.

Nice way to interact with hamster, I limit the time rolling to around 5 minutes and then take the lid off and stroke him to get the hamster used to my hands

I bought this to replace a hamster ball that my daughter drop and smashed (minus the hamster in it). Thought this ball would be fine as it’s clear and the hamster is able to see where it was going. The hamster goes out most nights onto the patio and I have never in the past had a problem. The hamster runs in the ball, the ball goes around the patio, the hamster gets exercise and fresh air, everyone is happy, especially the hamster.But imagine my dismay when I put the hamster into the new ball and realised that the top didn’t click into place like my previous ball. In order to make sure the hamster stayed securely in the ball I put a piece of selotape on the top. But the other night, my daughter put the hamster in the ball and went out onto the patio, after 10 minutes she came back in to pack her school bag. About 10 minutes later I went out and saw the ball empty with the lid by the saide, and no hamster....???? The hamster had disappeared and we couldn’t fine it anywhere. I asked my daughter if she had stuck the top down (which we shouldn’t have to do) she replied no. We stayed out looking for it until it was dark and eventually gave up after a lot of tears from my daughter.The hamster was eventually found in the cat’s mouth as she brought home her kill.So the moral of this story is that if you want your hamster to stay safe in its ball, don’t buy this one unless you want to give your cat an extra meal.Would I purchase again – NEVER, it’s just cost me a new hamster and a new ball.

It seems that all of these types of hamster balls are of similar quality. They are okay but a long way off perfect. How long it will last will depend on how active your hamster is in it but don't expect it to be long term if you use it frequently.My hamster bites the door slats so that over time it becomes more loose. Also, she has escaped twice before by running at table legs and chair legs to bust the door open. We now use a small piece of masking tape to make sure the door stays on and cannot twist open when she is in it.I like that you can see through it and watch your little hamster running inside it. Overall, I'm glad I have it but would readily trade it in if a better quality product came into the market.
