A nice change from pure black
After finishing off a roll of another brand's Black I was looking for something a little different but also, not, brightly coloured. That's when the Flashforge sparkly black filament caught my eye.I'm relatively new to 3d printing so far having printed with 'printer's PLA tester orange', a well known brand's black + white, and a lesser known brand's translucent PETG yellow. All the PLA printed fairly well but the PETG was a disaster. After finishing off my last brand roll, I switched over to the FF Galaxy Black. I reviewed the heating instructions and noted it had a melting point of 50c and lower end range of 190c (slightly lower than the other brand PLA I was using before). So I tweaked my slicer settings and put the new filament in my curer for 5 hours at 45c to ensure there was no residual moisture going to affect print quality.Immediately it started stringing and wouldn't stick and panic struck. Why was PLA going wrong when I'd had no problems with my other rolls mere minutes earlier??I immediately knocked my Z down 0.1mm and tried the same print again, voila, problem solved. That's a first!Normally it takes me ages of faffing, with this filament, 1 print and I've then had zero problems with subsequent prints.I showed my other half, my first print and the reaction was "ooh that looks nice, it's sparkles!" which is amazing given it was a kitchen towel for an Ikea rod I grabbed from thing verse which I'd printed (pictures attached of two different varieties, neither matched what I needed, so I am still working on it in Fusion360, will re-upload once I'm happy with it).So first impressions are very good, both from me, and a non-3d printer person. Very easy to dial in. Good adhesion. Can't comment on 'sheerness' amazon, it's a black filament?!I did read on a group somewhere that 'sparkly' filament can cause issues with the hot end or something so maybe something to be aware of and keep an eye out on, if you run lots of rolls of this kind of filament, perhaps? But no problems for me thus far, from the 4-5 prints I've done so far.Would I recommend this to a friend?YesWould I buy this again?YesAnything else to add? It'd be cool to have a white or cream with sparkly silver bits in it, like the newer marble counter tops you see. Get on it, Flashforge R&D team!

Great filament
This is now pretty much my go to filament.Running ion a flash forge 5M Pro with a 0.6mm nozzle and 0.3mm layer height, this stuff is fantastic. It is about as quick as HS-PLA using a 0.4mm nozzle at a 0.2mm layer height. The detail is not as good, obviously, but this stuff is great for functional prototypes. I have made gears, rack & pinions, and various enclosures for product testing. It is noticeably stiffer than standard PLA, and I have made small drill/mill fixtures from it as well with 80% plus infill. The matt finish is also really nice, it looks almost black.

Good PLA, shame about the muddy rainbow
The image suggests the rainbow effect is quick to present itself on a print, in truth you need to be printing multiple items or large projects to get the rainbow effect in your print. The colour palette of the roll I get ranged from a nice green and blue to a baby-poo brown. It is not the most inspiring rainbow! However I cannot fault the PLA itself, a good print and works very well with my Adventurer 5m form Flashforge

Good looing and easy to print
Bought this filament for some gate work in the garden. Nice outside colour. Easy to print, and being ASA should last a good while in all weathers.

Not good, very brittle and not dark as title suggests
Puchased to print a dark wood item, the colour is really light like a beech wood, I know PLA can be brittle but this stuff was that brittle before I even loaded the printer we had broken bits all over, the stuff tangles up too easily, and it seems that the reccomended settings need reviewing as the performance is terrible you have to print really slow for a good print. I have therefore returned and definatley would not reccomend.

Very nice filament now I have the settings right.
PLA Pro (Yellow)Elagoo Neptune 3 Pro Printer, with PEI plate.I’m printing mechanical parts with this filament at high (up to 100%) infills, and I had some real difficulty to start with, as the prints were really warping (which happens with all filaments at higher infill). It’s been very warm in the uk the past week (26’C) not sure if that added to the problem, I tried using my abs heated enclosure and that made the warping worse, so I went the other direction, ditched the enclosure and upped the cooling, using full printer cooling, I also have 2 large desk fans cooling the print, and this has been a big success, no warping at all on the last few prints with this method.First layer extruder - 210’C, bed - 70’C(for adhesion).Further layers extruder - 205’C, bed - 60’C.These parts seem very strong and I’m delighted with the print results now that I’ve honed the settings in. Would definitely order the PLA Pro again when this spool runs out.

Tangled mess
By far the worst filament I have owned, a lot of stringing issues with the prints, the reel is just tangles and nothing more, to the point where I had to unwind the reel and feed it in sections manually
