Absolutely wonderful...I grew up as a fan of Enya and Enigma, and Arkenstone just adds wonderfully to my New Age repertoire. Some of the best purely instrumental work I've listened to in a long time.

This album is not universally five star because it comes in two CD's, which you are supposed to put on two different stereos to get amazing surround sound. This would open up a huge realm of possibilities; you could make the main track louder or the backing track, according to your taste, fiddle with the tone, etc. Unfortunately very, very few (including me) are going to do this. But when I put both tracks together on Garageband and re-imported them I was really floored by the lush sounds Arkenstone has created. I would recommend this album very highly to anyone who cares to enter the mythic realm in his or her listening.

Inspiring and energizing; great background music for working on a deadline.

I love David Arkenstones work. He creates music that makes you feel like you're in a different world. In this particular CD the only thing I would have wished different is to remove the small amount of narration. I couldn't understand what he was saying, so it was a bit distracting. Otherwise it's great right-brain music. You easily lose yourself in it.

I'm a huge fan of David's, love his unbelievable creativity and most of all, his ability to blend music and sounds that sweep over you and draw you into his vision. But for me, this CD was a bust. It's really nothing but a collection of chiming, tingling, and (yes) mystical sound effects. No real music. It just drones on and on. Something you'd hear playing in the background of a fortune teller's shop, to be sure. Sorry to disagree with those 5 star ratings, but before you buy this CD, I suggest you listen to it completely to be sure it's what you think it is.

This is really interesting concept - you play the two CDs at the same time to get the "complete" musical experience. I never quite seem to get them started at exactly the same time, but that actually seems to add to the experience. The DVD is not a smooth video, but a series of pictures meant to compliment the music. I loved this!

Some tracks calm you, and others make you want to go out on an adventure. I have always been a fan of both Arkenstones.

Myths and Legends by David Arkenstone has two CDs. The second CD was designed by D.A. to provide ambient background sound for the first CD. The second CD has a track for track match with the first CD. However, you have to be a legendary DJ with a mixing board and two CD players that can be launched at precisely the same time to get the two CDs to blend their sound together. There is a bonus DVD included that has music videos of all the Myths and Legends tracks. So, if you are a DJ into new age music, then you will love this package. Otherwise, the music itself is of average to good Arkenstone.

Ich besitze alle CDs/DVDs von David Arkenstone, dieses Werk gehört wieder zu den Besseren und setzt seine musikalischen Traumreisen fort. Ich kann es jedem nur Empfehlen, genauso wie "In the Wake of the Wind", "Quest of the Dream Warrior", "The Return of the Guardians". David schafft es immer wieder einmalige Werke zu erschaffen, die es einem ermöglichen den Alltag zu verlassen und den Zauber und das besondere der Welt wieder zu spüren. Denn dies vermittelt er sehr oft mit seinen Reisen. Er animiert Menschen dazu die Augen aufzumachen. Und das ist gut so. Die DVD enthält eine zum Teil bildgewaltige Reise mit extrem schönen und teils sehr ungewöhnlichen Landschaftsaufnahmen. Es gibt Aufnahmen bei denen man sich fragt, ob die Bilder wirklich von der Erde stammen. So ist die Stimmung die zeitweise vermittelt wird. Die DVD ist Dolby Digital 5.1 was klanglich sehr schön ist, da der ganze Raum mit dem Klangfeld ausgefüllt wird. Die 2.CD ermöglicht es, wenn man keinen DVD Player hat, einen ähnlichen Effekt zu erzeugen. Indem man einen 2.CD Player hinter sich stellt und die CD Synchron zur ersten abspielt. Ist sehr ungewöhnlich und habe ich so noch nie gesehen. Aber auch früher hatte er schon mit Dolby Surround etc. expermientiert (z.B. in seinem Werk - Another Star in the Sky). Das macht einige seiner CDs noch mehr zu etwas besonderem.

this proved to be beyond my expectations. Awesome stuff by an awesome performer .... Recommended to all New Age music lovers without hesitation - go on, treat yourself!!
