Excellent tool
Initial impressions are excellent, it’s a simple, very solid build quality 4, belt sander and a decent price! It feels like it will last a lifetime. Why can’t all tool manufacturers make tools like this.

Really impressive sander
I bought some second-hand bedside drawers that needed a lot of work due to being sealed with an orange oil that had degraded and turned sticky. They are solid oak and even with a random orbital sander on low grit with high-quality sandpaper - we were struggling to remove enough material to remove the oil's stain. This sander is strong. 80 grit takes the surface off like butter which has saved me days. I was initially worried about the size of it - It's huge and wide for a belt sander, much bigger and stronger than the bosch my dad leant me, however, I've found this has been great for keeping the surface even and flat. Changing the belt is simple. very happy with my purchase.

Oh dear - can never buy a cheap tool again this is SO GOOD
Now I realise why you never see a professional with a Bosch or dewalt tool. I have a garage full of them and they break periodically and I replace them like an idiot. I’ve probably spent enough on drills over the years to afford a good one. This sander is amazing. Just does the job in an epic, yet completely unfussy kind of a way. Makita for me all the way now - this is going to get expensive

This is amazing. Well worth the extra few £
Fed up with my old cheap belt sander suffering from belts walking off. But the bulletin and ordered this Makita. First thing, this is seriously heavy compared to cheap plastic sander and it packs a serious punch. Dust collection bag is excellent just remember to empty it often, it’s surprising how much it collects. Only criticism is the power cable is a bit short but most people including me would be using an extension lead anyway. This should be the last belt sander I ever need to buy, well worth the extra money.

Gets the job done
This certainly does sand! The attached extracted bag makes the whole thing much more user friendly. The only reason I gave 4 stars not 5 is because it is heavy to use. That may just be me though so don't let it out you off.

Well made
The sander does its job very well, it’s heavy but that helps for it to work well, the bag captures most of the dust very effectively. The sander gives you a very flat finish which is what you want from a flat sander like this, a bracket is provided so that you can turn sander upside down to use as belt sander- very pleased.

Hubby is really pleased with this!
Hubby has been making planters as gifts. He used a neighbour's sander and it was so loud. Another neighbour wasn't happy with the noise. Neither was I. This sander is so quiet, yes there's noise but it's not deafening with a high pitched whine. Hubby is so impressed its not heavy, was easy to set up and works so well. He loves the size and weight. He planed rough roof timbers into great looking planks. You get what you pay for and this has turned out to be an excellent anniversary gift that's going to last. Makita is a brand my hubby highly rates. Happy hubby lovely jubbly!
