Like-New Amazon Smart Thermostat – ENERGY STAR certified, DIY install, Works with Alexa – C-wire required

We had a brand new HVAC system installed in my new home and had the guy install this with it. He had a bit of trouble trying to install this product, it wasn't as straight forward as it should have been. He did eventually figure it out but I feel it was unecessarily difficult for him. I do like the product so far and love being able to control it remotely or by voice command. Good value and happy so far.

It looks good in the room , it was very easy to install and set up . I love being able to control it remotely with my ring app and seems accurate . You can’t beat it for the price and I’d totally buy again or recommend

Thermostat works like a basically Thermostat because interaction with hunches as seen in many fourms doesn't work well... you could set a schedule but my old one had a schedule setup. I was looking for something that would work better than a schedule since my hours of being home change all the time. So when I leave hunches is suppose to pick up on that and set my thermostat on away temp. Same for sleep... it's set itself to sleep while I was away but barely picks up when I'm away properly. I've called tech and they just sent me to some other company who only had me reset router and thermostat and that's about all they can do. I have researched it and had little luck other than being told Amazon tech logs in logs and a few days later everyone says it works. So far I'm not getting the same support and feel stuck debating installing my previous honeywell thermostat back up. (Update) after much troubleshooting on my own, I called back to customer support and informed them of my previous attempts and what all I have done and about the fourms I read that seem to fix the issue. I asked that we troubleshoot it and if we can't fix it that I get a refund. Customer service went straight into refund with not attempt to fix it. Then told me they would return the funds as credit as that's how I purchased it and that it would take 3 to 4 days after I send it back before I get a refund... my response was so I'm suppose to wait for the refund before I can order a new thermostat and then wait for deliever of a new one without their attempt to troubleshoot and basically go a week without a thermostat... answer was yes. Support was worthless and so was this thermostat... spend the extra money and get a google nest or ecobee... you'll be glad you did to avoid Customer service for a bit that works as it is attended too.

I had a Nest thermostat at a previous house and really liked it, but I did not want to spend the money again when I moved. This new thermostat worked perfectly and although simpler, does everything I need it to. My wife and I like to be able to control it (fight over the temperature) from our Alexa devices and from our phones and the lack of buttons discourages my daughter from touching it in the hall. A win all around. I bought a refurbished unit but it was good as new— everything I needed was in the box and it looks perfect.

Was hesitant not knowing how the app would work but using Amazon Alexa it can be grouped in with other items in the home to create routines etc. I set this thermostat up in a remote property where I use a mobile phone hot spot and it gave me comfort being able to view temps etc. I was monitoring this remote device from a foreign country. The thermostat also provides humidity levels and fair energy usage graphs. What I don't like is the app will not allow me to set this thermostat location to be anything other than my primary home. Although I can see current humidity on the thermostat I have no way to use the humidity information to run my system. Say maybe I am more concerned about humidity levels than temperature. In Honduras I would much rather set humidity points to keep comfort in the home that actual temperature. Also while away maintaining humidity to prevent mold etc is far more important. Carrier has heating and cooling systems claiming total comfort where all they do is adjust humidity and in fact over ride set temperatures to achieve desired humidity levels. Another feature that would be awesome would be temperature alerts. Say temps are below your settings and email or text would be fantastic. Odd that a technology company like Amazon doesn't pack these features in since the device is more than capable. All in all for the basic user this thermostat will do a great job. For the price point of this refurbished unit I cannot complain.

Was so easy to install as my previous thermostat was apparently the same brand. I keep control of it through an app on my phone. My son even commented that I'm getting a smart home piece by piece.

Much better then the last one I had. I can manipulate it from my phone whether I'm in another room of the house or out of town.

The setup is so confusing, idk why it wont give me the color code like many other brand. I tried and gave up. Might need to hire a professional
