Excellent practical book about Project Scheduling, with a focus on large projects
Excellent practical book about Project Scheduling, with a focus on large projects. It covers all aspects of scheduling from the perspective of the project manager (it is not a technical book for scheduling professionals). For example, it gives useful indications on how to judge the quality of a schedule and how to make sure the project schedule remains useful during the course of the project.

Sound, actionable project schedule management advice that goes beyond the basics
Few books exist that offer project managers actionable advice for managing schedules on complex projects. Most books tend to re-hash the basics found in the PMBOK. Jeremie Averous describes well the different versions of the schedule that are needed on large projects, as well as the processes needed to keep them updated during execution. He describes several common schedule issues that arise and offers practical advice for resolving them.I particularly enjoyed the chapter on managing contract schedule disputes that arise between vendor and customer (chp12). This topic was approached mostly from the standpoint of construction projects, but can be very easily generalized into other areas. The book ends with two extensive schedule practice checklists to aid PMs with schedule completeness and process maturity. There is lots of very actionable advice throughout this book.(I read this in the kindle format)

This book is for those who have prior project management ...
This book is for those who have prior project management experience and covers higher level concepts which I didn't find in typical books on project scheduling.
