Great Pro Wrestling Book
This is a fantastic book about the territory days of Pro Wrestling in the 1970's and 1980's in Florida, Memphis and the AWA of Verne Gagne. The quality of the writing is terrific. The tone is conversational. At times I felt Steve Keirn was talking directly to me. There are so many wrestling stories that makes it near impossible to put the book down. I enjoyed every chapter. I was a fan of CWF and Memphis and sort of tolerant fan of the AWA. The book maintained my interest from start to finish. I have been a wrestling fan all of my life and my favorite era was the70's and 80's when the territories were dominant. If you were a CWF fan you will love this book more than most. However it is beyond interesting for any wrestling fan as the stories it contains are over the top. This is the best Pro Wrestling book I have ever read.

Well written!
I grew up watching the Fabulous Ones when they first formed and was a fan of Steve's a year or two before that when he came through Memphis as a singles wrestler and tag partner for a few guys. I followed his career throughout the years and was always a fan. I was hoping that Bad Attitude with Bobby Eaton would have gotten a bigger push. I grew up and still live in Hendersonville, TN, and he lived here for a while. My friend in school brought his autograph to school one day, and I thought it was very cool! Great read! Well written, and much respect to Ian, his co-author! I highly recommend it!

Easily the best wrestling book I’ve ever read
I may be biased being trained by and knowing Steve Keirn for over 20 years, but this is by far the best wrestling book I have ever read.Steve is a masterful story teller, as most wrestlers worth their salt are, but his clear and relatable stories set this above above all others. A prominent figure in the wrestling business for over 50 years, Steve never pulls a punch or backs down when telling his compelling life story.Steve has trained more professional wrestlers than any other trainer in the history of the wrestling business and is the gold standard for training and identifying talent.Clocking in at over 400 pages, this is just PART ONE of the story of Steve Keirn, as it only covers his first 20 years of the business. The only draw back about this book as that it doesn’t cover the other 30(!) years (yet!) and you will cruise through this so fast and it will leave you wanting more.Kick back and enjoy the story and life of one of the most respected professional wrestlers to ever lace up a pair of boots.

A Must Read for Any Wrestling Fan
Any fan of professional wrestling should read Steve Keirn's memoirs. This book gives readers a fascinating glimpse into the world of professional wrestling and is well-written and entertaining at the same time. Keirn's wrestling career lasted several decades, and he collaborated with legends like Hulk Hogan, Dusty Rhodes, and Ric Flair.Keirn's enthusiasm for his work and his sense of humor remain intact throughout.Overall, any wrestling enthusiast would benefit much from reading Steve Keirn's book. This book is a fascinating, engaging, and sympathetic look at professional wrestling and the individuals who make it possible.Hoping for Volume 2 soon!!!

Great book
I must be up front and say that I have always been a Steve Keirn fan, that said, I found this book to be a very good read. He covers his childhood, early career up through the end of the Fabulous Ones tag team. The stories are interesting and easy to read. I hope there will be a Keirn Chronicles Vol. 2

Bittersweet
It was 23 years ago that I first stepped foot in Steve Keirn’s School of Hard Knocks. I’ll never forget training alongside friends, like David Mercury and Steve Madison. Just a bunch of young punks who were very different, but all immensely passionate about professional wrestling. I thought I would get an education in pro wrestling, but Steve gave me so much more. He gave me lessons on life, respect, wisdom, and showing my best self. At the time, I was young and immature. I was intimidated by Steve, simply because of the immense respect I had for him. This book, Keirn Chronicles, is answering all of the questions I was too affraid to ask. It’s bittersweet, because I wish I had had the courage to show Mr Keirn my true self, back in 2002. I wish I could have asked him about these stories, in person. Here I am, at 41 years of age, and I continue to use the lessons Steve taught me 2 decades ago. He has no idea how much they have impacted me, and the hundreds of students/kids I have passed them down to. Steve has impacted so many lives, that mine is irrelevant to him. However, I’ll take it for what it is. Though Keirn never saw me how I wished he had, probably do to my immaturity and lack of confidence, he still influenced me in ways I am forever grateful. And through this book, he continues to provide me with life lessons. This biography is for anyone who wants to read about a truly epic life of a very special man.

Not many books can be described as: impressive. This one is. The story line reads like a novel. It is also very well written and easy to read.

Very honest and matter of fact
I really enjoyed volume 1 of The Keirn Chronicles. The authors write engagingly and about an era of wrestling that will never be repeated (or equaled).Steve Keirn tells loads of stories about his life on the road and the various territories that he travelled to and how he went in each one. He dishes some dirt but to be honest, it doesn't feel like he had an axe to grind, he was telling it like it is.Keirn knows that wrestling is a business to make money and not to put oneself over in the book, his ego is far smaller than some wrestlers. The highlight of the book might be the Florida days especially his take on the downfall of Eddie Graham. One of the best wrestling books out there.

Excellent
Another incredible wrestling book by Ian Douglass. Ian Douglass has quickly become the best when it comes to wrestling books. This book, much like Brian Blair’s book are both incredible. I can’t wait for part 2 of this series. So many tales from the ring and the ribs that go along with it.
