Love love love
Love love love! Been using color butter for a while, I gotMy hair dyed rose gold 3 months ago, I’ve been using this color butter once every 2 weeks and its turn my fading rose gold into a beautiful magenta (which is what I was going for, just didn’t know what shade) i have also used blue before when I had blue hair and it made my hair look gorgeous even 2-3 months later.

Love this stuff, but forget the brush.
I am a brunette and this gave a subtle tint to my dark hair (without bleach). If I had bleached or lightened my hair first the color would definitely have shown up stronger. I notice the color mostly in the sunlight. The tint brush ended up being unnecessary, it was much easier to apply the color butter by rubbing it in with gloved hands. I'm not very experienced with coloring my own hair, so doing it with my hands felt like I was getting it in more thoroughly. I wish I had just bought the color and skipped the "brush bundle" all together. But it's still cheaper here than buying at the local Ulta Beauty! This is possibly the easiet home hair color I've ever seen. The directions say to leave it in for only 5 min, but since my hair is dark I left it in for around 20. Leaving it in longer is not going to hurt anything, IMO. In fact it feels like a deep conditioning treatment. The only gripe I have is that when you peel the protective seal off the tub, the color is usually all over it (from being jostled in shipping), so if you don't start off with gloves, you're going to get color on your hands right off the bat. But wipe off whatever color got on the seal and stick it in your hair, easy-peasy.If you're doing your whole head you'll use the entire little tub, you may even need 2 tubs if your hair is long. I tried getting a little creative and used the dark Purple color on the top half of my head and then used Pink on the ends. So I used half of each color. But about a week or so later I ended up doing a second round just to make the color more vibrant (again its subtle on dark hair), and used up both tubs. It eventually fades with several washings, just as I expected. Overall I love this product and will definitely purchase again!

This product is great for adding some purple to my hair during the in between period of waiting to see my hairdresser. I would definitely buy again. Please note that I have really dark hair and had the tip of my hair lifted for this product to work. If you have really dark hair and you are looking to add purple to your hair then this product is not for you. This will work on light color hair or hair that has already been lifted (striped of its color). There is a scent to this product but I do not find it overwhelming, I think it is a pleasant scent.

Didn’t work for me
Yes, it tinted my hair (my hair was dyed purple and fading back to blonde) but it tinted it this weird dull grayish purple color. Everyone’s hair is different but this one did not work on mine. It’s also VERY messy compared to overtone, which I had been using. I’ll be going back to overtone which brings my hair right back to the color it’s suppose to be.

Two colors in one container - red and pink
I love that this is very easy to apply, it doesn't smell bad and I'm not allergic to it. I was pretty happy with it when I first put it on - it was a vibrant red. But after one wash, vibrant pink. Another wash... pink. If I wanted pink I would have bought pink. And the color doesn't last as long as the blue does. In fact, I think I still have some blue showing through where the 'red' washed out.

Touch-up Between Salon Visits
My hairdresser recommended this to help prolong my pink ends between visits. Works as expected. Wear gloves, unless you want pink hands. :-)

Good for freshing up color
I use this to freshen up my blue hair in between visits to my hairstylist. It brightens up the color a bit, but doesn't "take" evenly -- some areas get bluer, some don't really change. I leave it on for 20 to 30 minutes, and use it once a week or so in between professional coloring sessions.
