Anyway the W90 Rapide Ultra, arrived in a large single box, easy to unpack and alot easier to put together than i was expecting after reading some of the online reviews. Just squeeze 2 buttons, pull out a tab, slot the handle in place, replace the tab. Easy. Ok, so first of all ensure you give your carpets a good all over vacuuming before you start, this will make cleaning the Vax alot easier when you're finished. Unfortunately, as mentioned in all the reviews, you don't get a measuring aid with the provided cleaning solution (please Vax consider one of these in future releases). To start with we measured 2 litres of warm water into the tank (tank holds 4 litres) and the 80ml of cleaning solution (40mn per litre), as luck would have it one of our fabric conditioner bottle tops makes a 40ml measure so we used one of those :o). Clipped the cleaning tank into position and away we went.One thing to note, the W90 is quite a lot heavier to push around than one of the smaller, cheaper, Spring Clean models. Not overly difficult but you know when you've cleaned a couple of rooms with this!As these carpets had been down for over 6 years and have had school children and clumsy teenagers trampling everything and anything they could walk in, or spill over, well trodden into them i'm sure you can imagine how they looked. The first pass over with the Vax was an eye opener, the second pass was nothing short of miraculous! From flattened and brown embarassingly mucky carpets to plumped up and beige in 2 passes! I was suprised! I knew the Vax would get some of the muck up but i was not expecting it to make such a marked difference. Your carpets (if they have any age) are not going to come up like brand new, unfortunately nothing can cure the bleaching effect of the sun so you will still see the difference if you've moved furniture. But once the funiture is back in the same place you can't help but be impressed with the result. On one really heavily soiled area (exit from the kitchen into a carpeted diner) we did pre-treat with solution for 15 mins and it really did help clean up stuborn spots and grease marks that you would inevitably get. When you see the colour of the water going into the waste tank it is, frankly, embarassing. You think by vacuuming regularly you are cleaning your carpets. Wrong! The water was black, filthy, and upon emptying the tank, full of grit. A couple of swills and shakes under the tap most of virtually all of the grit and fibres were cleaned out and it was ready to go again.In short I can't praise it enough. The results i had leave me as a convert and i will now be doing the rooms a couple of times a year so that they stay looking as they do now. If you have children, animals or clumsy spouses, get one. Amazon are considerably cheaper than anywhere on the high street and their delivery is exemplary.

I am renting a gorgeous 1 bedroom starter home off a colleague.I have been there now for almost a year, and I have a little Chihuhua - when I'm home he's very well behaved, but when at work, he occassionally does little small deposits around the sofas ...I have always used Vanish and it does a pretty good job, but the carpets are creamy beige, and with all the well used areas by the door and sofas and with my little dog, the carpets look like a dull but very light greyish cream, and with a very light but ugly yellowish stain where he accidents.I've been thinking about getting carpets cleaned, but wasn't too sure of the cost or if the outcome would be good - plus money has been very scarce lately.However beginning of this month I had a nice litte cheuqe back from PAYE Tax, and thought hmmmm let's go and get this carpet cleaned and get the odour of dog's mess (urine) out of this carpet.I ordered my Vax on Wednesday, and selected 1st class delivery - which estimated delivery on Friday/Saturday - however, the Vax was despatched the same day of ordering and I received it yesterday (Thursday) - Thank You AMAZON!!So when I got home yesterday I unpacked the hoover, set it all up - took couple of mins literally, and moved all the furniture out of the lounge, and got started - tackling the deepest yellowish stain - it took a good few times to start actually doing something, I think i should have used pre-treatment on it, or the attachment hose and brush, as the stain is probably so deep now from repeated weeing from Scrappy (my chiuhuhua).Once I had tackled his wee hotspots, I went over the rest of the carpet, which had tea stains, coffee stains, and just general wear from always being walked on - it probably took all in all about 20mins, some of the stains were stubborn, and I had to refill it only once.Last night the results were impressive enough and the carpet dried probably within 45mins or so - it wasnt that wet, just a dampish feel to it - however, i wanted to the results in daylight.I have to admit, not only did the room smell fresher this morning, but the carpet actually felt more softer and bouncier under foot, and the stains....what stains? No dull greyish or dark marks from shoes or well worn areas. Even in the hall way, where i have a ormat by the front door, it's hard to tell at first glance that the carpet even had a mat there.It used to look grey and disgusting everytime I removed the mat to clean.The carpet does look like amost new - Well worth the money, and so so so easy to useThis weekend I will tackle the bedroom and the stairs - cant wait - especially as the results are so fantastically amazing - it really does do what it says on the box.Now you can have a dog and cream carpets!!Fantastic product and would recommend to everyone and anyone!!
