I have ordered this coco coir so many times — it is hands down my favorite soil to use. I originally discovered it after dealing with a gnat issue during my very first gardening experience, and this made a huge difference. After a two-year planting journey, I’m finally seeing peppers growing in my little greenhouse, and I couldn’t be more excited! I’ve noticed that this soil helps keep gnats away, which has been a big win for me. One important thing I’ve learned is that this soil doesn’t contain nutrients on its own, but that’s actually what I love about it. It’s like a blank canvas where you can add exactly what your plants need. I’ve mixed in ground eggshells for calcium, added coffee grounds, and even sprinkled cayenne pepper while experimenting. I really enjoy testing different methods, and this soil makes that easy. It expands beautifully just by adding water and is very easy to work with. Overall, this coco coir has been fantastic for my gardening journey and I highly recommend it.

The product is lightweight and easy to store. one brick was about a 2 pound bag of soil equivalent. It’s simple to use just add water, wait and spread the soil. You can use it for indoor and outdoor plants and it works well as a garden soil additive. No mess, no bugs and no leaking soil like the bag at the store. It took about twenty minutes to rehydrate one brick and it takes a decent amount of water to do so (I kept having to go back and add more it expands kind of like those sponge dinosaur toys). I got the brick because I had some flowers I planted (day lilies, hibiscus in particular) that were having trouble thriving. So I mixed this in with my garden soil and within 36 hours they’ve finally started to bloom. I will be purchasing more so I can do the rest of my garden.

I've purchased coconut coir for several years, and had success with ZeeDix before. I bought another 10-pack in June because my supplies were getting low. I finally cracked open the first brick of my most recent purchase tonight and it won't hydrate. Poured boiling water on it and nothing. Hard as a rock. Waste of money, and won't be buying again.

Overall this was a great value for the price. My one complaint would be the inconsistency with which each brick hydrates. Some of them hydrated really well creating a nice even substrate. Others kept large clumps of rock hard material despite soaking for over four times the others.

These work perfectly with our upscale composting toilet. Granted, the toilet isn’t used daily…it’s out at raw land, but a brick lasts for months.

I love it. My plants love it. My wallet loves it. Easy-to-use, eco friendly. You get alot for what you see. Worth your money. Will definitely buy again.
