(US Model) VESSEL BALL GRIP Interchangeable Ratchet Screwdriver

This is a different take on the ratcheting screwdriver. It's got a ball-hold, that fits in your palm. Seems made for reaching and more precise tasks. You can hold it still in your palm, and control the screwing with your fingers, the twist the hold thing to finish the job. It has a long, thin shaft. The yellow collar stiffly twists to control direction. Opposite twist of that to your desired direction. Hard to activate by accident, and a little hard to active intentionally also. Accepts the standard 1/4th inch bits, which secure by a VERY strong magnet with no locking function. Takes some force to get them out. Ratcheting is smooth, with a loud, metallic clicking sound. A little louder, and more metallic than most. The back ratchet is very light, easier than usual. Less likely to unscrew a less firmly planted screw. There is a little bit of lateral handle wiggle/slop, and some rotational wiggle also. About average for a good ratcheting driver. The handle is hard rubber where the knurling is, and hard plastic elsewhere. The way it fits in your hand, it feels more suited to precise work rather than brute force turning. Surprisingly comfortable. Easy to push down a little harder on the screw though with your palm. Overall, very nice and quite unique. I like how you can hold the screw in place and twist the shaft with your thumb and index finger to start, then twist with your wrist once it tightens up a little. Worth a try being so different from the traditional form. Above are come comparison photos for size and shape.

Used my father's old ratching screwdriver over the weekend and thought why I did not have one? So I did a little research and decided on the Vessel Ball Grip. Received it yesterday and wishing I had purchased one sooner. I also picked up the 31 piece but set for it. Upon unpacking, I was pleasantly surprised at how it fit my hand and was very comfortable. The ratcheting mechanism feels and sounds good, a solid made tool. I love my grerman made screwdrivers, but they can be pricey. I recently bought koken and tone ratchets and have been very impressed with them so I decided on the Vessel and I bought the right one. The magnet in the tip is strong, holding the bit well in place. A nice feature in that you can pull the handle from the shift and tou have a ratcheting stubby. If you are thanks of getting a ratcheting screwdriver, don't hesitate on the Vessel, and it is substantially less expensive the big box truck or European drivers with every bit the quality.

Amazing tool. This is the second time I've bought this driver, I used the first one multiple times a week for a couple years until I recently lost it on a job site. I've been trying to make do with individual screwdrivers and some other multi bit screwdrivers like a Klein one I had laying around, but nothing comes close to how smooth the ratcheting action is on the vessel driver, and nothing compares to how comfortable the ball grip is to hold vs any other style of handle. Being able to pop the blade off the ball grip and use it as a stubby driver is a huge plus, as is being able to hold the ball grip in your palm and use your fingers to turn the blade itself when trying to start hard to reach screws without dropping them. Overall 10/10 tool and probably one of the most used tools in my entire collection.

Just like my previous Vessel screwdriver purchases, this one shows an amazing degree of polish in its design and execution. The ratchet itself is extremely fine, while still feeling strong and bombproof. Switching from clockwise to counter clockwise and back seems a little less polished. The major exception to my praise is that the included, precise screw driver bit does not fit well in the 'stubby' ratcheting ball grip. Oh, it's plenty solid, and isn't going anywhere, but that's the problem. To remove it from the ball grip requires a pair of pliers to get it out. This is something that is totally unacceptable, especially since quality of design, fit, and finish are the attraction here. Anyone else having this problem?

Awesome, super handy. Does not split in half (round top removes to a stubby screwdriver!) easily. Dangling from a technician pouch and the bottom falling off was my only real concern but it doesn’t, highly recommend this tool.

It’s a nice driver. Fit and finish is fabulous. It’s well built and I imagine it’ll be nice over a long period of time. That being said, I’m docking a Star for it being very easy to move the direction ring while screwing. It’s not bad, but it’s gotten me a couple of times. Also, my big issue is that the stubby part really only works well with longer impact bits. The ring that holds the bits in is so tight that if you put a regular drill bit in there, it’s going to be extremely difficult to remove. With the supplied Ph2 it’s easy, because it’s longer and has an area you can grab since its impact rated. If I put a similar ph2 from my tool check plus, it’s stuck and you can’t get enough purchase to remove the bit. You have to whip out pliers to remove it. Happens with every bit that doesn’t happen to be a little longer or impact rated. Weird issue but that’s part of the beast. Also the back drag is fine but it could be lighter. Otherwise, it’s a great driver.

This is a great screwdriver with the reputable VESSEL name, the blade pulls out of the handle and can be used as a stubby, it also ratchets. The collar where the bit snaps into is a little thick so if you are working on recessed screws it may not fit. however you could also purchase a replacement blade such as the (+2x150(6") Replacement Blade) and it would snap into the ball head, saving space in your tool bag. i mainly use this to repair copiers with JIS screws and so far it has worked for most tasks.

I really like this tool. Ratchet works well. Feels good in my hand. Switches direction a little too easily while using, but I like it overall.

vesselのグリップが好きで、ビットで運用したかったため購入しました。 ・回転方向と逆に切り替えるので操作中に当たって反転してしまいやすい。の割に意図的に切り替えるには突起が浅く切り替えにくい。 ・スタビのビットホールドが硬過ぎる。 ・ラチェットのガタは並に有るが気にはならない。 ・ビットのガタは気にならない。 ・スタビとしても使えるのはあまりにも画期的。しかも先端側だけでもある程度使える。 ガタや切り替えについてはアネックスが勝るが、なぜvesselのボール形状はこんなにも魅力的なのか… 2026.9追記 切り替えレバーの誤操作だけでなく、間の固定ポジションに"寄っている"だけでも固定されてしまうようです。 これでは実用性としては使い物にならないのが正直な評価です。 いやむしろ、このような機能にしてデザインがカッコイイ事の方が罪だと感じます(褒めています)
