Aluminium Mitre Box set including Saw and Handle

Accurate and easy to use cutting tile beads

Great value set, espially taking into consideration these were being sent from the U.S. I already have the saw but the teeth have blunted over the years and needed replacing. I only really needed a new blade but when I saw the entire saw plus an aluminium mitre box Ihad to have it. The box has a small lip along one edge so you can hold it against a table edge to prevent it from slipping around. This is an essential tool for a modeller like myself to ensure right angled or 45 degree cuts in small sectioned metal, wood or plastic. Recomended.

Very nice tool. Unfortunately I failed to read just how small it is but it is certainly fit for purpose.

Delivery ahead of schedule. Saw blade good quality cuts balsa ply and hard wood well. Handle a bit cheap and cheerful but holds blade securely. Mitre box slots are significantly wider than the saw blade making it difficult to make accurate cuts. Diagonal slots are both 45 deg. One slot at 60 deg would increase functionality. Not sure if the aluminum box would blunt the blade so I have lined the base with 1/16 inch ply. Overall reasonable value. Main criticism is slot width.

The quality of this set is very poor, especially as it claims to have been made in the USA. The saw blade is soft and bendy - in fact it actually arrived bent and I had to straighten it out. Secondly, this is very small. The dimensions quoted by the seller are much larger than the actual item. Even in its packaging it's nowhere near the measurements quoted. A previous reviewer mentioned using this to cut skirting boards. They'd have to be for a dolls house as this is tiny. It won't accept anything higher than 25mm (1 inch). So, completely useless for my purposes, which was simply going to be to mitre some wood to make a picture frame. So disappointing!

I bought this to cut acrylic pipe after cracking it trying to cut it with other methods. I wasn’t sure at first but this was exactly what I needed. I bought this to cut the acrylic pipe for my ghostbusters inner cyclotron tubing on my Q pack. (The size I used was 14od and 12id.) The key is to wrap the acrylic piece in blue tape where you are going to cut it. The cuts are clean and come out pretty great. The blade is sharp and cuts nicely. I wouldn’t say that this setup is 100% perfectly straight cuts every time. Sometimes the edges aren’t perfectly straight But for the price it got the job done. I was able to sand the bottoms to get them straight enough. When you are cutting let the blade do the work. Don’t force the blade down too much. The only issue I had was i accidentally cut through the block. But that’s probably because of the way I was cutting. Overall this thing worked great.
