Hozelock Easydrip Universal Sprinkler (3 pack)

The actual sprinkler works well but the instructions that tell you how to fit it to an irrigation pipeline are unhelpful. The low-resolution monochrome graphics printed on the pack are almost impossible to decipher and, to make matters worse, Hozelock don't seem to have a video on YouTube that shows you how to fit the sprinkler. This matters as it's easy to accidentally disassemble the sprinkler while trying to fit it (see photo). Fortunately, it's equally easy to re-assemble it provided you have a suitable pair of pliers (slip-joint water pump pliers work well). Here's what you need to do to fit the sprinkler: 1. Open the hose clip by pressing on tab; 2. Slip the clip onto the irrigation pipe and when you're happy it's in the right place, close it securely; 3. *Firmly* press the yellow button on the side of sprinkler then, with the button still pressed, grasp the light grey casing of the sprinkler with your other hand and twist it clockwise. This will allow the metal needle in sprinkler to pierce the pipe and hence allow water to flow into the sprinkler; 4. Now attach the ground peg to the bottom of the sprinkler and insert it into the ground; 5. Turn the water on and adjust the flow through the sprinkler. Note that if you don't press the yellow button firmly enough it's easy to disassemble the sprinkler. However, it's easy enough to click the two pieces back together using a suitable pair of pliers.

I bought the hozelock hose mistakingly thinking it was a soaker. It wasn't. So I looked into how you use this rather than send it back. Obviously it meant more money buying spray bits and accessories. I bought this for nearly £18 thinking it would be simple. Hoselocks website is poor at demo and explaining it in my opinion. Anyway no instructions except a diagram on the packet that if you rip it open you can no longer read ( go figure) so using the force I try and make out how to do it. Promptly breaking the top off of two of them. The important bit is PRESS THE LITTLE YELLOW BUTTON BEFORE SCREWING IN TO PIERCE PIPE . Feeling a bit peeved and thinking I will have to send them back as broken. I tried to glue them. Realised they are a push fit. So using a clamp managed to Clip the tops back in. Would have given 5 start if instructions were clear. Works really well and going to buy some more.

Excellent system... Pricey mind you.

When these work, they are fantastic! But they can be fiddly and each one has varied results. Such a clever concept!
