Love how simple and effective this is
Ordered this because it fits in the corner and holds more filtration than a simple sponge filter. I really like being able to open it up to clean it but also to add/change filter types.

Exceeded all expectations.
This actually has exceeded all my expectations and has worked way better than expected. I have not had to take it out to clean it. It keeps my tank clean and fits into the corner perfectly. What more could you ask for in a simple filter? I am definitely satisfied. And I would definitely recommend this two others and already have recommended it to others! Definitely worth it! And as far as filters go, it looks great in the corner, behind some plants! And it is extremely durable.

They work!
I have had some very expensive filters and still do. I didn't expect much from this one. I got it as a back up for a shrimp tank. It was fantastic and I'm still shocked. It's not often you get something that is ultra budget friendly and works, but this did. The one thing I would change is the media on the bottom layer. Get a little Biohome or Matrix and chuck the original. That media can't hold enough beneficial bacteria. If this is a secondary supplemental filter no biggie. I also experimented and removed their sponges and put in poly floss. It worked just as good.

Good pump works as intended
Works well, as intended. Only issue is that if you get an algae bloom or the rocks fill with debris otherwise, good luck cleaning it to make it appear nice and prim and proper again. Recommend for a heavy planted aquarium or hidden behind tall plant decor. Noise level - none from this, it's from your air pump that makes noise. Ease of assembly - just dunk in dechlorinated water, stick your airtube on, and good to go. Ease of disassembly for cleaning, not so much. Size - Good for a 5g, 10g, or 20g aquarium. I'd use 2 or more for 30g and wouldn't use for larger aquariums. I like that it easily fits into a corner instead of sticking on the back wall kind of haphazardly. Durability - it's a plastic container with filtration media, no internal pumps or mechanics, and if your fish can break it I'd be concerned. Don't put it in with mantis shrimp or oscars and jack dempseys and you should be good to go. Mine was for my betta and now for my frogs. I rebought it for my nursery tank. It doesn't disturb the surface water at all, while providing oxygen to plants and aquatic pets. Depending on your air pump size ratio to your tank. It'll put out as much air as you give it. Nozzle raises up to be high or low. That's a good bonus as well. You can make varying levels of bubble sources that way.

This is a great filter for my 10 gal tank.
Outstanding to filter much better than the monster that came with my tank. Working to adjust smaller bubble output. It moves my red rooted floaters too much. Very quiet. Betta doesn't mind. After all it is his tank!

Works well for a few months
Stopped working after 5 months, while it was cheap, disappointed that it didn’t last very long

Replacement white filter layer is worthless
The filter worked fine in a 5 gallon fish aquarium. The white filter didn't last very long. The replacement white filter is SO thin even two of them stacked together is thinner than the original white filter. VERY disappointed. The black filters are fine and similar to what came with the filter. No way would this filter handle a 30 gallon tank.

Excellent Filtration for Shrimp and Fry Tanks
This corner sponge filter is a great solution for gentle, efficient filtration in tanks up to 30 gallons. The foam provides excellent biological filtration, while the included ceramic rings and natural stones add extra surface area for beneficial bacteria. It runs quietly when paired with an air pump and creates minimal current—perfect for bettas, shrimp, and fry. Easy to set up and clean, plus the corner design saves space. Just note that an air pump and tubing are required (not included). Overall, a well-designed filter for small fish and planted aquariums.

I don’t have many negatives to say about this sponge filter. It works very well with my air pump and quickly cleared the dust from my cycling aquarium after first adding Fluval Stratum (stratum heavily mucks up the water at first, like the water was black). The sponge provides lots of surface area for beneficial bacteria to colonize, and my bladder snail babies seem to love grazing on and around it, I’m sure my future shrimp will too. The shape is pretty unique which is great for keeping in a corner. My only minor complaint and the reason for losing a star is that you need to do a DIY minor modification if you want to use an air stone inside, which I wish was built in from the start. If you don’t use an air stone you risk having your sponge filter sound like a witches brew or something rather than light bubbling. (The white bag on top of it in my photo is just a small media bag full of crushed oyster shells I’m using for raising KH)

All 3 sizes use the same standard air tubing. I bought the big one for my 36 gal, 2 medium sized ones for my 20 gal, 1 medium sized for my 10 gal and I bought the tiny corner one for my 2.5 gal but I think it’s too big for the 2.5 gal. I think 5 gal would be perfect for the little one. Very easy to set up. I have a tiny pump for the med size one and a full sized, not huge pump for the big one. I also recommend getting the valves so you can set the air flow.

Works great, fits nicely in the corner of my aquarium. I have a 3 gallon and it moves the water around as it should. I'm just starting the aquarium so can't speak completely for it's filtering abilities yet, but I will be updating this review in a couple months when the aquarium is working better. Weighted so it stays at the bottom. Pretty much seems the same as your regular sponge filter, just quartered

Just got this, will update how well it works after a week. Will say it has some good weight to it, was expecting a hollow plastic base but it has weights inside. Planning the airstone mod, and my Nicrew mini air pump came with a 25mm stone, but you will need something under 20mm to fit. 20mm would be a tight squeeze. I'd aim for 18mm at most. Bought this for the corner of a 5.5gal tank, that had a nice hanging pump that came with it, but I have Celestial Danios, and I started to notice babies that are insanely small, so, switching to this.

It floats for awhile, make sure to squeeze all the air bubbles out of it and a couple rocks around the base keeps it in place. Works well and can see the filtration working within a few days. Note it doesn't come with any attachments or pump.
