Digital measuring tape
I saw a real estate agent use one of these and I just had to get one. Way more convenient for measuring a room than an actual measuring tape. Convenient to carry in your pocket.

Cool tool
What a cool tool. I haven’t tested how accurate it is but I would imagine it is intended to be used more as a quick way to determine fairly large distances. I think if it is used for that purpose it will work for you.

Helpful, easy to use
Handy tool for taking quick measurements. I use this for quick measurements when estimating flooring and paint jobs. Fits in my pocket and is easy to use especially in rooms that have obstacles such as furniture.

Works for to measure up-close distances
I bought this to use as a rangefinder for photography with old cameras that had no rangefinder (or autofocus). I think it will work well for this as it measures close-in in the range of inches but also reaches out to many feet.
