Easy to use, great option for a start up studio!
I expected this brand to be costly and as a start up studio I was dubious to purchase- however on arrival I realised the excellent quality. Very easy to install and I’m not a tech person! Set up with ease. They look the park. The sound quality is absolutely brilliant. The XLR cables fitted with ease and they fit on most mic stands or arms. So very versatile - small enough if you want to make them mobile and very light weight kit! No issues with connection or sound! Fabulous product and in a very good price range!

Convenient and quality
USB C straight into the pc, no setup needed and no interface needed. Works perfectly and sounds great. A bit pricy but if you want a high quality plug and play experience then go for it, you won’t be disappointed. Just make sure to buy the rode boom arm or an equivalent quality one as the thing is heavy.

Amazing for price but gain hungry!
I bought this mic after wanting it for over a year now and it sounds amazing truly podcast quality but there are things you will need too get it running well and without a problem mostly also this mic is super heavy like you can feel the quality just from holding it alone. You are gonna need an xlr cable duh and also a audio interface again duhhh but don't cheap out on these unless you want to get a gain booster which are hard af too buy like finding one in stock that won't break the bank will be like finding a grain of sand. Also get a good xlr cable most aren't expensive and mine was 4 pounds and feels good and won't break. If you are in a windy environment get a pop filter to put over it as the internal pop filter is crap and basically not even a feature. Also if you already have a boom arm or any kind of mic arm it should support it as it supports both 5/8" and 3/8" threaded mic stands so no need for a new one or a janky or overpriced adaptor. My only complaints are the fact they advertise a pop filter built in which I'm sure there is too a degree but it does nothing compared too a real one. And also how on my boom arm it doesn't like too screw on securely as the built in shock mount or stand can turn allowing the mic to move where ever needed means I tighten it as much as I would like but it's not a deal breaker. Overall an amazing microphone and sounds incredible for the price(excluding cables and interface and maybe gain booster if needed) and the fact that with some simple EQ it can sound just like the SM7B which seems too be the standard for mics like these I don't know why when this thing exists. So in short in my opinion (baring in mind i came from a blue snowball condenser mic) this thing is insanely good for the price and I don't think I will ever swap mics now. So if you can afford it get it unless you find something you like more. But if you want a good quality and amazing sounding mic for under 100 pounds then this is the one for you but please do listen to sound tests before you decide as not everyone likes the same sound I like :)

Great Broadcast Sound, but Needs a Strong Preamp
The RØDE PodMic delivers excellent, broadcast-quality audio that is warm and rich, perfect for podcasting and streaming. The build quality is superb; it is very solid and feels professional and durable—it's built to last. However, as a dynamic microphone, it is a low-gain mic and requires a powerful audio interface. For reference, I use the Scarlett Solo 4th Gen and have to turn the gain almost to the maximum to achieve a proper recording level. Buyers without a strong interface (or a separate Cloudlifter/Fidelizer) should be aware of this requirement. If you have the proper gear to drive it, this microphone is a fantastic investment and easily worth a 5-star rating for the quality of sound it produces.

Takes a while to get it set up but once you've found the best settings, it's really good
I upgraded to this from a Blue Yeti and I'm pleased I did. Also pleased I got it cheaper via the Amazon Marketplace! I wanted it so I can record YouTube videos - I play woodwind instruments and also talk about the music, so I wanted a mic that could handle both in a way that sounded good, for voice AND musical instruments, resulting in recordings which don't need much tweaking on my video editing software. I'd also done a lot of research on this mic and liked the way you seem to get as good a mic with USB-C as the XLR version. Out of the box on connecting to my Asus laptop with Windows 11, the result was...... NOTHING!!! I spent AGES googling for solutions and trawling through YouTube videos. In the end I discovered you have to disable a couple of Intel audio settings in the laptop setup! Then it worked. Just. So I googled software options. RODE produce at least 3, all of which I downloaded, but ended up opting for RODE Unify as not only can you tweak the settings on the mic (see misc YouTube videos) but you can record too. With the Blue Yeti I'd used Audacity, but the RODE PodMic USB recorded REALLY QUIETLY regardless of how many tweaks I did on Audacity, so I'm actually finding that the Unifty software does the job for me. I record using it and then export the file to my choice of folder which I then upload into my video editing software along with the visuals to make videos. I use PowerDirector, and was delighted to discover that the recordings required pretty much no tweaking to get the right sound. All I needed to do was to increase the volume on the track. I wanted a mic where I could talk, then play music, then talk, without having to tweak the voice and music separately. Once I'd got the settings right on Unify, after quite a bit of testing, it's all worked out really well. Both voice (talking) and woodwind instrument (alto baroque recorder) sound great. The mic also screws into an existing boom arm I have which is good, too. It doesn't come supplied with a stand. So to conclude: once you've worked out how to set it up, get it working and get the right settings for you, this is a really good mic. Straight out of the box and plugged into the Asus laptop with Windows 11, it DOES NOT WORK until you fiddle with the Intel settings and download RODE software like Unify.

Good, basic mic.
Bought this for some fairly casual streaming and YouTube content making. Couldn't be more pleased. Really good microphone. Of course if you're upgrading from something more simple you're going to need a mixer and such, it's not just plug and play, but well worth it. Great, cheap microphone.

Happy after pairing with an audio booster attachment
Surprisingly love it. Heard a lot of negative reviews but I'd done my research. It IS a gain heavy mic and even with a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 4th gen audio interface, I have to keep gain almost at max, but pairing this with a Klark Teknik CT 1 inline mic booster (cheaper than a Cloudlifter) solved the issue big time. Now you get that broadcast quality sound with a lot of control over loudness. Now I can keep the audio interface at just 40-45dB than 69dB for gain. Oh, and the mic does seem to have high sibilance at least with my voice, so I simply added an unbranded (cheap) pop filter on top to counter that (apparently it comes with an inbuilt one too though but I needed it still) Has become my go to for YouTube, Google Meet calls and everything broadcast related.

The Right Microphone for Podcasters and Voice-Over Artists
I absolutely love this mic, it has completely transformed the way my voice sounds on podcasts and voice-overs—it’s warm, clear, and has that rich broadcast tone you'd expect from much more expensive microphones. It feels incredibly solid and well-built, with a heavy all-metal body that screams quality. I’m using it with an audio interface, and once it's properly dialed in, the sound is crisp with minimal background noise, even in a less-than-perfect room. No need for an external pop filter either—the built-in windscreen does a great job. If you're confused about which microphone to get, check this out. First let's look at Dynamic vs. Condenser Microphones **Dynamic Microphones** * Great for podcasting, voice-overs, and live performances * Handle loud sounds well and are less sensitive to background noise * Very durable and can take a beating * Don't pick up fine audio details as clearly as condenser mics * Example: Rode PodMic **Condenser Microphones** * Best for studio vocals, singing, or acoustic instruments * Very sensitive and capture more detail and high frequencies * Can easily pick up room noise, echoes, or background sounds * Usually require phantom power from an audio interface or mixer Now let's check out USB vs. XLR Microphones **USB Microphones** * Plug directly into your computer's USB port * No extra equipment needed—great for beginners * Usually limited to using one mic at a time * Less flexibility to upgrade your setup later * Example: Blue Yeti **XLR Microphones** * Use professional 3-pin XLR cables and require an audio interface or mixer * Provide better sound quality and more control over audio settings * Allow you to upgrade different parts of your setup over time * Require more setup, but offer better long-term value and performance * Example: Rode PodMic with Focusrite Scarlett Solo I hope this helps :)

Solid pick
Ok i feel i need to address this but when i was first looking at this i saw it was frequently returned amd the shock hit me too but i felt it was such a good product i needed to take the risk ok so before we get into the pros and cons i came from a yeti x and was debating on this or the shure mv7+ but since the time of making this review the mv7+ is much more expensive and after watching videos this mic sounded better on usb PROS: -im honestly pretty impressed how well built this mic feels and it does have pretty good weight to it -the sound signature is just so good for the price and even out of the box with no software it sounds great -the software is actually pretty easy to use and theres even an advanced mode for people who want more options -much better at not picking up mouse clicks or keyboard typing CONS: -the lack of a physical mute button is definitely taking some getting used to -the usb is usb-c to usb-c some people may need to get an adapter if using older motherboards or laptops with no usb-c (most stuff has usb-c but im just putting that out there) Overall im glad i gave this one a chance

Outstanding microphone with excellent sound quality and versatility
I purchased the RØDE PodMic USB to upgrade my live streaming and content creation setup, and I couldn't be happier with the results. I use it with the RØDE DS2 Desktop Studio Arm, and together they make a perfect combination. My first unit unfortunately had a manufacturing defect and wasn't capturing audio properly. However, Amazon's customer service was exceptional and sent a replacement within hours. The replacement worked perfectly right out of the box. The audio quality is simply outstanding. Since switching to the PodMic USB, I've received multiple compliments during my live sessions about the clarity and richness of my voice. It delivers professional broadcast-quality sound with minimal effort. One of my favorite features is the onboard DSP. Once you configure the microphone settings, they are stored directly on the microphone itself. This means you don't need to keep any software running to maintain your preferred settings, which is incredibly convenient when switching between devices. Another feature I love is its USB-C connectivity. I was able to connect it directly to my Samsung Galaxy S25, and the audio quality was amazing. If you create videos on your phone and want professional-grade audio without carrying extra equipment, this microphone is an excellent choice. The dual USB and XLR connectivity provide great flexibility for both beginners and advanced users, and the included 5-year warranty from RØDE adds extra peace of mind. Overall, this is one of the best microphone purchases I've made. Excellent sound quality, versatile connectivity, onboard processing, mobile compatibility, and solid build quality make it an easy 5-star recommendation.
