Do I have to add citrus drops to get iron from the fish? I have issues with citrus / is there an alternative?

Acidity is required for the Fish to be able to release iron into the liquid. Luckily it is not limited to citrus! Healthy and helpful acidity can also be found in vinegar, stock, tamarind, tomatoes and other fruits or vegetables. Broth, soups or stews do not need extra acidity added.

Do you just add this to your meal whilst cooking? Like can I add it into soup for 10 mins and remove whilst all the ingredients are already in there?

The instructions say to boil your pan of water with the iron fish in before cooking your meal, so you would boil your water for soup or pasta or vegetables first, then add those ingredients. I am assuming it is to keep the fish clean, as I can't imagine there would be anything wrong with using it as you describe, but you would have to wash it with detergent afterwards, rather than just rinsing with water as per the instructions. Acidity must be added each time you use the Fish. This draws the iron from the Fish into the liquid/water you are cooking with making it iron infused.
