Strings not great?
Feels OK but lacking snap, think the strings / tension too low compared to my other rackets. Maybe worth spending a bit more?

A very good racket
A really good all round racket. Good power and touch. Just what you need really.

Faulty frame or poor quality craftsmanship
I used this for just over a year, about once a week. I thought it suited my game well (the Airblade Tour model I got has a light head and a flexible shaft) but after what I think is the first light contact playing doubles, the frame has broken very easily.I contacted the seller and they said that as it's made from graphite this can happen. I've still got 2 graphite rackets many years ago and they've had many heavier contacts with no issue.

Good racket, great value
Really like this racket. The guys who gave one star reviews must be professionals or something. I play a couple of times a week and think its well worth the price, although I have never seen one online actually selling for the RRP.

Carlton Airblade Elite - heavy and clunky
If you like a 'head heavy' and 'stiff' racket then, perhaps this is for you - otherwise avoid. I tend to use Carlton rackets for their lightness and control. I had assumed that the Airblade Elite was a 'head light' and 'flexible' racket. Not in this case. The main problem is that there is an inadequate description of the racket being sold. When I raised this point with, Racketworld, the seller, I got an unsympathetic hearing. He stated that Airblade Elite's are 'head heavy' and 'stiff' ..... however, an internet search by me only found references to 'head light' and 'flexible' rackets.

Top quality racket
I have no idea what planet the other reviewer is from! The Airblade Elite is well known as a stiff, head heavy racket and it says it clearly on the shaft. More importantly, this is another quality product from Carlton which will meet any amateur's, and most pro's, needs. I tested a similarly priced Yonex and lesser Carlton at the same time as the Airblade and this one was head and shoulders above the others. While it is called "head heavy" it does not feel weighty in your hand (84g overall) but has just enough weight to give power shots that extra oomph. Personally I don't like feather weight rackets so it does come down to personal taste. Please don't write this off!
