Technics SL-1500C Direct Drive Turntable (White)

Bought one and returned it as the auto-tonearm left randomly lifted suddenly, too soon or not at all. Bought another and discovered this function really is nothing more than a Fisher Price accessory. It had other issues too. Both units lifted the arm after 20-120 seconds but neither stopped the turntable rotating - not a great problem as it is direct not belt driven but a half-measure however you look at it, so what is the point? On the first unit I had to remember to re-raise the tone arm before playing a new record as each time it auto-sagged and hit the edge. The model is three times the price of my last one, a Rega. Yes, the sound is an improvement, but if only they'd cut out the cost and effort wasted on a function that doesn't work properly, it would get closer to five stars.
