Leather Preparer Deglazer 5oz

The Angelus Leather Preparer & Deglazer turned out to be far more effective than I expected. I bought it specifically for automotive leather restoration, and it has quickly become an essential part of my detailing process. If you want a clean, properly prepped surface before recoloring or conditioning, this product does exactly what it is supposed to do. I first used it on a leather steering wheel that had years of built-up oils, grime, and leftover conditioners that regular cleaners could never fully remove. The Preparer instantly lifted the residue and left the leather feeling clean, dry, and ready for restoration. The difference in surface texture before and after was noticeable. After deglazing, the recoloring products adhered much more evenly. I also used it on a leather car seat that had discoloration and glossy wear spots from daily use. This product removed the shiny layer and opened up the pores of the leather, which is exactly what you want before any treatment. It prepped the leather perfectly with minimal effort. A small amount on a lint-free cloth went a long way, and I could immediately see the leather returning to its natural, matte finish. An important part of my process is using a leather coloring balm to refresh the seats, and this Preparer is absolutely necessary before applying the balm. Without it, the balm never bonds as well and tends to sit on the surface instead of soaking in. With the Angelus Preparer, the coloring balm absorbs smoothly and evenly, and the results last significantly longer. The 5 oz bottle is the right size for several detailing projects. I was able to clean a steering wheel, a full leather seat, and still had product left for future touch-ups. It is strong enough to break down old finishes but controlled enough that it does not damage the leather when used properly. Overall, the Angelus Leather Preparer & Deglazer is a reliable, highly effective product for anyone restoring leather, especially in automotive interiors. It is now a permanent part of my process, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants professional-level results when cleaning or recoloring leather surfaces.

This worked so quickly for me as I started to strip the paint off of a belt that had deteriorated. I just put a 6x6” rag on top of the bottle’s opening, turned it upside down to wet the rag, then started wiping it on the belt. I started on one end and worked my way to the other. The process was very fast and easy. It dried fast but I let it dry overnight out of excessive caution, probably. It’s now ready to paint. I highly recommend this product to strip whatever the manufacturer puts on a leather surface. I wouldn’t have enough to do a second belt, so if your project is bigger, you might need a larger quantity.

So i decided I was going to customize a pair of Airforces and after doing a lot of research, this was the stuff most people were saying to get in order to start that project. Worked great! My only complaint, is once I broke the seal on bottle, the lid (tightened and closed) leaked. Needs a better lid because now I have to store the whole bottle in a zip lock bag so if it accidentally tips over it doesn't leak everywhere. Fix the lid.

I bought this product to prepare a bag that I was going to paint and it worked perfectly! It took the shine and sealant off of the bag and then I was able to use the leather paint to change the color!!!! It looks really good! 💯 satisfied

Awful colour, and even worse application! Even with careful preparation using the Angelus professional leather preparer and deglazer, it really didn't do the job and frankly ruined the shoes. I ended up buying Rub n Buff which actually did the job. So sorry to have wasted money on these products.
