Great and good looking Smartwatch with great functionality
Great Smart Watch. I have always liked Suunto smart watches. I like the app and how they work. I also trust the water depth claims as Suunto is a well known dive watch maker for Scubadivers and I used to Scuba dive. I use it to record swimming exercises, bicycling, walking, and many indoor workouts like treadmill, elliptical, rowing and indoor bicycling. I really like the display that is shared if and when I share it online. This is also a good hiking smartwatch as it has a built in solar panel display that gives it almost a months worth of battery life and a built in altimeter and supports 5 satellite positioning systems (GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, QZSS, BEIDOU). GPS is the US system, GLONASS is the Russian system, GALILEO is the European system, QZSS is a 4 satellite regional Japanese system and BEIDOU is a regional Chinese system. I have only had it for about two weeks and it is going strong. I got the one with the deep red watch band. I think it looks great. I am very happy with this smart watch and look forward to using it for years. I also always put on a screen protector. This helps keep the screen from getting damaged. Yes, I didn't get it on perfectly centered, hence the bubble on the lower left. It still protects the screen though. Suunto watches are very accurate. I have never had an issue with any I have owned.

Big upgrade from Peak Pro 5
I ordered this and the Peak 9, ended up keeping the vertical. Honestly, I love it. I was coming from several ambits, traverses, and most recently Pear pro 5. The battery life is great and I do not regret skipping the solar. There have been some software updates that have in my opinion reduced functionality. You'll see this when you watch videos on how the vertical works and then realize that the feature was changed / removed. Specifically, I can't believe that when my watch came out of the box I could tap the widgets (complications) on the main screen to scroll thought them. However after running an update that feature is removed. You can also pin only one app other than the main face, why not be able to pin several. The buttons work well, the touch screen I rarely use.

The ultimate smart watch for the outdoor enthusiast!
This is my fourth Suunto watch purchase and by far, the best. I am an avid hiker and climber and this watch has exceeded my expectations. The battery life is tremendous and no other watch comes close to it. It is easy to operate and navigate and is extremely durable. If you are an outdoor enthusiast of any kind this is the watch to have and use on your adventures!

Really Bad experience both with quality and customer support
I am Suunto loyal customer using their products since 2015 even recommended to so many friends in the past.Recently I bought Suunto Vertical and faced so many issues:1. Rashes on my wrist (Pic attached)2. HR readings are way off during exercise- comapred with Garmin and Apple I can easily see 40-70BPM gap between Suunto vertical vs other watches whether it's during Hike, Bike, walk or run. Uphill based on my other watch reading is ~160 however vertical is giving me reading of 95-120 (I can easily feel it's not accurate).3. Blood Oxygen measurement-Most of the time watch just stays in the measuring mode and never end up giving the data.Tried different methods to resolve these issues through online forums etc. but NO SUCCESS.Got it into contact with customer care, they also couldn't resolve the issue and took my details that they will send the query to technical team and send me response through e-mail. It's more than one week I didn't hear back from them.Based on bad experience both with product quality (Imagine I spent more than $700) and bad experince through customer support I am not going to recommend to use this product anymore.

Some outstanding implementations, and some stumbles
This would be a really nice watch for anyone that uses route guidance extensively, but doesn't care about wrist based heart rate or maybe 24/7 wear. First the pros:* Truly awesome implementation of route guidance that is very visible. Route management and creation through the app is also implemented very well. This is the best implementation I've seen across Garmin, Polar and Coros. It captures essential information, doesn't try to put too much on the screen and has a very responsive compass. Note however that these maps are not routable - they mostly provide context when navigating.* Great design - this is a nice looking watch that isn't as big as some, but has a nice presence on the wrist.* Battery life - I found the battery life to be comparable to, if not better than the Garmin Gen 1 Enduro. Solar also seems to make a difference in battery life as well.* Features tend to be pared down relative to Garmin, but I felt they had a good grasp of what was essential on the watch, so they didn't overcomplicate things.Cons:* There are some strange inconsistencies in the UI - for instance the placement of interval settings. I had trouble finding this reliably for some reason.* There are sharp angles where the watch meets the wrist, and it isn't always comfortable -- especially at night, or when the band was tightened down. People with more flesh on their arms probably won't have an issue.* The heart rate readings (for me) were way off. There was a very specific placement on my wrist that would help, but it is not where I'd normally wear it. The watch needed to be quite snug - to the point of discomfort, which was exacerbated by the hard angular nature of the watch (see previous point).* Related to the above - Suunto only allows pairing one bluetooth heart rate sensor (I have three). It would be one thing if the OHR on the wrist worked well, but for me it did not. I typically use at least two external HR sensors - my chest strap causes bad chaffing in the very warm weather, and so I will wear a polar OH1 on my arm instead.* Sleep tracking didn't work for me, but then again I've never found a watch that was able to measure this for me.So for some people (ultrarunners come to mind), this is a watch worthy of consideration. Suunto really has produced a nice product. I think where they need to work is on the optical heart rate sensor, which is a generation or two behind both Polar and Garmin. If they fixed that, they would have a real winner, IMO.Edit: Suunto updated the firmware for the heart rate sensor in the latest quarterly update for the watch (7/2024), and now the sensor works much better.
