I’ve been sewing for years but just recently stepped into the world of sergers, and the Juki MO-50E has made that transition surprisingly smooth. This machine is a great balance between power, precision, and price especially for home sewists who want to elevate their garment finishes. 🧵 Setup & Threading Threading a serger can be intimidating, but Juki has done a great job making the process less painful. The color-coded threading guides are clear and accurate, and with a bit of patience, I was up and running in under an hour. Bonus: the automatic lower looper threader is a time saver once you get the hang of it. ✂️ Performance The MO-50E runs quietly and smoothly, even at high speeds. It handles light to medium-weight fabrics with ease from cotton knits to linen and lightweight denim. The stitches are even and professional-looking, and the built-in rolled hem function is fantastic for finishing edges cleanly without switching machines. ⚙️ Adjustability & Features I appreciate the easy-to-adjust tension dials, differential feed, and the option to switch between 3- and 4-thread modes. The knife cuts cleanly and consistently. For the price, you're getting a solid feature set. I would like to start by saying that I am not being paid to write this review, nor did anyone solicit me to do so (other than the normal Amazon request). I am writing it because I appreciate hearing from other purchasers and want to pay it forward. I want to also say that this is my first serger. I have been sewing my whole life...my mother was a seamstress. She never had a serger, so I didn't think I needed one. But she didn't really sew knits...I find myself using them all the time. And, while my sewing machine has a knit stitch, I'm finding the serger SO much better!. This little machine works really well and didn't break the bank. As to some of the other comments, it does come with accessories! They are in the accessory drawer on the left side. If you can't find them, read your users manual. Also, it is not hard to thread. Yes, it is a little complicated, but watch the video and (again) read the users manual. Just like with a sewing machine, there are several steps -- for one needle and the bobbin. And, with 2 needles and 2 loopers (works like a bobbin but without the spool), there are several steps times 2. But none of them are really hard...just go slow and you'll get it. You can also tie your thread to the thread the machine came with. Then, don't try to pull the thread through, just start sewing. It will thread through perfectly. You will, of course, have to thread the needle itself, but that should go without saying. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase. Time will tell if it is well built -- seems to be -- and if it will work on all types of fabric. I've tried a few and so far so good!

No problems with it. This was my first serger and the learning curve on threading is high! The first time I had to re-thread the whole thing (color change) it took me approximately 5 hours over the course of 3 days. I still dread if a certain thread ends up pulling out or breaking. Word of caution, have tweezers on hand before you start! It will help. Tensions were fairly easy to set after reading the manual. Keep the manual around to refer back to it. I have used this for many projects. It is a must of you want to sew with knits or make apparel.

I bought this serger to replace my Brother 1034D, which broke irreparably after just a few months of use. So far, this one feels much sturdier and more capable. It handles multiple layers of thicker fabric like a champ and simply glides through them. My Brother had fits going over thicker seams, so this is a huge improvement. Plus, this machine has a nice, clean stitch. I also appreciate the seam allowance measurements marked on the front casing. However, this machine is a lot more difficult to thread than the Brother. It took me several tries (including watching the instructional DVD multiple times) to get it threaded correctly the first time, and even longer to get the tension right. I've since had issues with the loopers becoming unthreaded in the middle of use—even when the machine had been working correctly for a long time. And when that happens, there's basically no chance of just rethreading the problem area. You will have to rethread the entire thing from scratch in order to make it work correctly again. It can cause a lot of frustration when this happens in the middle of a seam! Overall, I'm pleased with the purchase, and I think it's a great value. The finicky threading may scare away beginners or those looking for an easier setup, but for those that can look past that, the Juki MO-50E is a solid, powerful machine that does a great job.

This machine is a workhorse. I was trying to decide between this one Juki Mo-50E and Brother 1034dx. After watching YouTube videos on each of these machines, I chose Juki. I am extremely satisfied with this machine. It does not bounce like the Brother machine. It is very easy to thread. It has attachments and accessories in the drawer on the left side of the machine. No skipped stitching. Comes with an easy to read manual.

The value of the machine for what it can do is phenomenal. It speed and cleanliness of your finished edges will blow you away without cutting up your wallet. Only complaint is the lack of threads in the package.

These are usually good machines but we waited a long time for it to arrive and it is missing the accessories that are supposed to be included. Worst problem, if you don't have that special screwdriver you can't operate the machine. NOT HAPPY! Professional Broadway people here!

This was purchased for a gift for my daughter. She loves it, and does a lot of sewing. It seemed to be very easy to thread and learn how to use.
