John Maxwell points the way!
John Maxwell tackles subjects of attitude and application with a faith based background. I find his books an easy no nonsense read. He's not overbearing and preachy with some superiority complex. I started out with a couple of books and found them so practical and profound that I bought another twenty more. And there's still another twenty on the wish list. You can given all of the knowledge in the world, but if you don't have the right attitude and approach to life, you'll never achieve any true success. Mr. Maxwell lays out some important truths about success and failure and embraces the fact that every human being can achieve the maximum in his life despite poverty, injury, circumstance, age, education and social status. The only thing we have to overcome is habit, attitude, and negative outlook. And when we embrace the fact that our ultimate goal is to utilize our knowledge and experience to help lift up others, we have found the true path to final success. But there's a lot of hard work to be along the way, so start learning how to profit from the lessons in Maxwell's book. It isn't the end all, but it is a great beginning! In less than a week's time, I have produced a remarkable change in attitude and profit from unfortunate events and circumstances.

Maxwell's best yet!
Perhaps it was my sense that this book revealed more of John Maxwell the person than his other works or maybe it was the subject matter was more aligned with where I was at the point at time I read it, or perhaps it simply is his best book yet. You read it you decide! I will promise you that even if you can't agree with me that this is his best book yet will agree that there is a richness and depth to this book that is not always present in some of his other works. This book will do what all gret books do - it will force you to look deep within yourself and make some decisions that perhaps until now you have been reluctant to make. This book will help you get off the couch and onto the field, whatever that field may look like for you. This book is a difference maker!

John Keeps Us Moving Forward
John has taken an old “Down in the mouth” saying, “Sometime you win and sometime you lose” which could have us feeling like “Eeyore”. He has now given you “Permission” to look at the same saturation that was not a “Win” for us and turn it into a “Win” by learning what went wrong and applying that lesson to future experiences. Another way to say that is, John is still teaching us when we have a failure our progress can still be forward.John also shares with us although he has “Made it” he is also human. That’s a good reminder for his readers so when we have “Made it” we should remember that we are human as those around us know so well. Thanks John, I'm Tom and I’m your friend.

Phenomenal Life Principles
I have read several John C. Maxwell books before and am greatly encouraged by him every time. This book is no exception. He takes and explains one of the most important life lessons you could ever learn: how to successfully fail. It seems like a contradiction of terms, but it is just the opposite. Far too many people view failure as a negative thing, but nothing could be further from the truth. In this book, "Sometimes You Win--Sometimes You Learn," author John C. Maxwell dispels that myth and many others and teaches you how to capitalize on your failures. I absolutely recommend this book to anyone who is interested in improving themselves and getting the very most out of life. I finished this book greatly encouraged, optimistic, and challenged to make the very most of my mistakes past, present, and future. I definitely recommend it whole-heartedly to anyone seeking to improve the overall quality of their life. Enjoy!

Perspective
So many times we look back and reflect upon our failures, short comings, and losses. What we need to look at is opportunities that have been given to us. Rest assured that just about all things will not work out the way that you want them to, but they will work out. So embrace the opportunity to learn. Always remember that great achievement requires great effort. Don't get discouraged. This book will keep you moving forward so that you may become your best self.

Great Read! I'm less concerned now about the losses, and grateful for the lessons!
As usual, I like John's simple and forthright approach and the stories that drive the point home. I also like that, although very useful there, it is not specifically about business or sales as much as more broadly about life in general.I recommend this book to anyone in a leadership roll, especially one where those being led must also become leaders for the leader's goal to be realized. Your potential leaders should read it in its entirety too!I gave 5 stars because I gained so much. I'll be tweeting the chapter titles and and a few quotes from book using hashtag #maturity since that is where all of our losing "with" learning ultimately leads!Jon Lononhttp://jonlonon.com/mybizcard

Sometimes you Win, and Sometimes you Learn....
I have purchased a John C. Maxwell book for my husband, but I have never really bought any of his books for myself. I also bought his leadership Bible for my husband, and I enjoyed reading it from time to time. In this book John Maxwell talks about how we need not dwell on our mistakes. We should turn our losses into lessons, that would help us in life, in how we tackle challenges and relate with others. There are lots of quotations from other great authors, philosophers, etc. John also uses his life as an example, to let his readers know that, although he has written a lot of books on leadership, but he himself is prone to mistakes. I have just finished reading the book, and I am really in awe of John C. Maxwell, to me he is an inspiration!

Disappointing
I was disappointed with this one. The reviews look great and I love the concept but felt like it was a rehash of other people's stories which was disappointing!

Fantastic books . John C Maxwell's make today count and be all you can be was a wake up call for me. Having gone through some challenges in the last few years, nothing ever mattered, but when I bought those books, they up lifted my spirit, I received a different kind of energy, and they totally changed my mind set , my dreams came alive, I can now stretch myself, my imagination and be more focused on my Christian faith.

Not massively impressed by this book. Some interesting points, but largely a repeat of what is said in many other books of this type.
