Label Your Food Like The Bear
I am not a painter. I know this stuff is called painters tape but that's not how I am using it. I'm a hardcore foodie who loves to cook. I watched 'The Bear' on Hulu and fell in love with the idea of labeling my food with green tape just like they did on the award-winning show. Here's how I do it. I stretch out an appropriate length of tape and cut a perfectly square piece. IYKYK. Next, I fold about 1/2 inch of the left end of my piece of tape back on itself to create a tiny handle. I stick the tape to the counter, write out my label and the date, and then stick it to my food container before I put it in the fridge or freezer. No more mystery bags or containers and no more wondering, "How long has this been in here?"Once the food has been consumed, I grab the left end of the label by the tiny handle I created and smile as the tape easily releases its hold on my container and has the good manners to not leave any sticky residue behind. Carmy Berzatto would be proud.

Best workshop tape
I use a lot of painters tape in my woodworking projects. This green works very well and brightens up the sawdust covered workbench.

From a non-tape expert
I'm not a professional in the construction world, but I am an avid DIYer. In the process of a major bathroom overhaul I realized we were running low on the standard blue painters tape we usually use so I wanted to get some more. I came across this and figured I would give it a try. As far as tape goes, it is about what you would probably expect. This type of product has been around for a while and there are very few differences among the majority of options. There are, of course, the really cheap ones that don't really work at all, but this isn't one of them. It is pretty comparable to other brands out there in that it sticks well and comes off when you need it. You can tear it without the need of scissors which is always good but I did notice one thing that seemed a little different to me. I'm not quite sure how to describe it, but this tape almost had more of a papery feel to it. It doesn't feel like paper so that's not a very good description, but I'm not really sure how else to describe it. In straight applications, it goes on just like the others. But I was trying to tape around a curve and noticed it was a little harder for me to work with. Not so hard that I couldn't get the job done, but the blue stuff almost seemed to have a little more stretch to it maybe? Like I said, it's really hard for me to explain, and I'm not sure that most would notice, but it was a little unusual for me. I don't think it would stop me from recommending this to anyone else. It's a good product and I didn't have any problems with it leaving a residue or peeling off the paint (though I didn't leave it on for really long periods of time). If the price is right for you, go ahead an give it a try.

Great bathroom tape
I recently found myself having to unexpectedly re-paint a bathroom in the house. Bathrooms are the worst possible room to paint - all those small areas and all those small things you have to paint around. Backsplashes, tile walls, tubs, shower surrounds, mirrors — all of it. I had someone paint my house before I moved in and I noticed every single ‘mistake’ that was made in the master bath. I was determined that I wouldn’t make the same mistakes so this tape seemed like a good place to start. The tape went on easily and smoothly. It was easy to take up and reposition as I worked my way around the different areas of porcelain and tile in the room. The tape stayed in place during the painting process. I had no bleed though. The tape came up easily when I was finished and I had no sticky residue. For the price it seems like a good investment - easier to avoid the mistakes and mess than to try to go back and correct it once you’re finished. I have plenty left over, so when the time comes to repaint the master and the powder room, I’ll be ready.
