I watched The Witch: Subversion in which MC was played by Kim Da Mi and I was a big fan. Everything in that movie was perfect. Not too much annoying dialogues, conversations kept short but vibe and intentions were delivered. The setting was chilling and the atmosphere was always ominous. Kim Da Mi also portrayed the character very well, she played an innocent looking girl but smart and cruel inside. I noticed she didn’t blink when she fought and she always smiled which gave her a badass impression. I really looked forward to this one but it failed to deliver my expectations even tho it used the same setting and color scheme. There are too much useless dialogues, like when Jang talked to Dr. Baek, I could hardly tell what they were talking about and I didn’t even know that Jang was livid with Dr. Baek. The action wasn’t as good either, my husband called this the Korean twilight and I hated it but I agreed with him because unlike the first one, this had more telekinesis stuff instead of close combats and made fights almost too easy to watch and rendered them uninteresting. Then the Chinese group, their accents weren’t good enough and it feels really weird when they talked. First movie tied up all loose ends except for one which led to this and that was great. This one has way too many loose ends and the ending tied none of them, like who are the Chinese? Who is this mercenary group? Why does everyone has superpower? What's story behind the vein thing?… I understand that it's sort of foundation for a third movie but there are way too many so the third one might be too busy to tie these ends than to give audience a good show. The only good part was the portrayal of Ark 1 character. She didn't talk much and she had no societal norms because she was confined her whole life, unlike Goo Ja Yoon. So in the end, I don't really feel satisfied, just feel like I watched a lot of throwing people around.

Yall. Watch the first one and then this. I was just on Google trying to find a movie. This is worth watching. I’m waiting on the 3rd one now.
