Brand New XD4 Arai did the only thing possible to this groundbreaking, critically acclaimed street and dirt crossover helmet. We made it even better. Intermediate-round oval shape: The new XD4 has Arai's intermediate oval (IO) interior shape. New exhaust ports and shell shape: These new top-diffuser-vent ports nearly double the XD4's airflow, while its new shell shape provides better aerodynamic stability at higher street speeds in concert with its high-flow peak and new side cowl vents. New larger side cowl vents: The new larger, sculpted vents improve ventilation efficiency as well as helmet stability on your head at speed. New chin vent: The new vent has more intake ports for improved airflow. And like its predecessor, the vent's chin bar is rounded with less protrusion making it less likely to catch and dig in during a spill, than most other designs. Its oval form is actually based on the egg's, long known for its extremely strong and efficient shape. FCS cheek pad system: Arai's amazing new patent-pending FCS (Facial Contour Support) cheek pad design delivers comfort, support and fit like nothing you've ever felt, and it features our exclusive 5 mm peel-away custom fit layer. New brow vent face shield: Arai has added our trademark brow vents to the new XD4 face shield, providing airflow to the temple area of the head. Fully removable/replaceable/washable interior: Includes Arai's patented Dry-Cool technology to keep you drier and cooler (hence the name) for greater long-haul comfort. Emergency cheek pad release system: From Arai's decades long commitment to building helmets that do more for riders comes this major innovation, the very first emergency release cheek pad design created specifically for motorcycle helmets. Developed to allow easier access to an injured rider, the XD4's cheek pads slide out easily via the integrated pull-tabs built into the underside of the cheek pad, making helmet removal much easier for trained medical personnel. Review: The fit and durability - The Arai XD4 is the best fitting helmet I have ever worn, and it has saved my life. After 10 years and 2 bad crashes with the last one, I have ordered another. The quality is top notch. Review: Stylish and comfortable!! - This is my second Arai helmet, purchased to match my new GSA!! Comfortable, stylish and the best helmet i have ever purchased!!

Its an Arai
The helmet is an Arai. Its expensive and worth every penny. Just make sure you correctly measure yourself or go to a motorcycle shop and have them do it for you. I know Arai quality and was still surprised by this helmet. Definitely recommend if this you are considering the enduro style of helmet.

Nice but not even close to the value
Noise in the vents was too much for me to keep this. Nice but not even close to the value.

Good, but not as good as I expected
I bought this same model helmet from another vendor, which is why it will not show up as a verified purchase at Amazon. I bought this helmet a year ago and have put a lot of on and off-road miles on it now. My review is in comparison to an old (non ADV Shoei that I no longer own), a new Icon Airmada, and a Bilt 3/4 helmet. These other helmets are not ADV helmets, so it may not be a fair comparison, but it give a point of reference for my comments, none the less. What I like: 1. I like the visor... I need it when riding ADV. I ride a GSA with a wind shield so it doesn't really start to catch wind until 50-60 MPH. at freeway speeds of 80mph, its still ok but does catch side gusts so is not a good helmet for long distance freeway riding as you would expect. 2. I feel protected, although that feeling is based on the Arai reputation more than any direct knowledge. 3. The helmet is solid and medium weight 4. the cheek pads are removable and washable What could/should be better: 1. The ventilation ports don't do much of anything. In very hot days, they are slightly noticeable, but otherwise, not. 2. The windshield fogs up at slow speeds. For this cost and brand of helmet, that's unacceptable. My Icon armada does a MUCH better job. and I never had this issue with my Shoei. 3. There is no firm latch for the face shield to keep it down. It does not flop in the wind, but I often find myself pushing/sealing it down as I go to higher speeds. 4. The helmet is larger than advertised- this is a safety problem and a noise problem 5. The Noise is TERRIBLE (at high speeds when there is a lot of tire and wind noise), It mainly comes from underneath the helmet. Compared to my Icon, this is unacceptable for this price of. helmet. I believe the padding around the neck area is loo small to keep the noise down. I verified this by stuffing a cloth around my neck to seal the helmet and I get much less noise... but not a realistic way to ride a ADV bike - or any bike for that matter 6. Adjusting the visor is only possible with the helmet off and it's not very adjustable at all. I keep it as high as possible, and don't have issues with it when riding, Conclusions: I still use this helmet the most- I feel protected with it and I like a visor when riding off road. ANY road riding I do, I use my Icon Airmada. The helmet is not bad, but I do feel that the price is largely based on the name and Arai is riding their reputation rather than making an outstanding product like they should be doing.

Best full face I have owned
I love this hemet, it's comfortable and the visibility is great. With the visor takes time to get used to on the road, but is nice in Florida.
