Tree Fu Tom Adventure Castle Playset

If you have bought any of the Tree Fu Tom toys before you'll already know that with the exception of a few, most of them are shockingly poor in design and quality. We ordered this toy as a Christmas present for our 2 year old son. To avoid disappointment I decided to open the box and check out the overall quality of this toy. Firstly, this toy needs some assembling as the slide and the upper half of the castle arrives in pieces; but don't worry it only take around 10 minutes to put it together and it was all fairly straightforward - it took me a lot longer to disassemble and put it neatly back into the box. There is a trapdoor that is activated by turning a page of the book that is on a stand and is located on the same floor as the trapdoor - I tried it a few times and it seems to work well. However, after trying out the "Super Lifto Lift" I have to say I'm not so sure about its build quality, to activate the lift you have to turn an orange knob and although it worked fine the mechanics of the lift look a little flimsy. The leaf slide also works OK although Tom is not very stable on his leaf board and sometimes topples over. The flying contraption at the top of the castle spins around easy enough but looks a little odd. The "Seeking Crystal" lights up (but not very bright) and requires 3 X LR41 batteries (small watch type batteries) which are supplied and already fitted. The most important thing that I need to share with you is that this castle only comes with a Tree Fu Tom figure and none of the other figures shown on the box. Overall, this is an OK toy but very misleading.

You only get a Tom Figure with the skateboard, despite the pictures. The Tom Figure is pretty good, but won't stand without the plastic disc.The rest of the product seems to be on a par with other Tree Foo toys we've bought:flimsy plastic, designed in a way that is just not going to survive even the slightest rough and tumble from the mildest youngster for any length of time - a particular problem for the intended age group.The ramp only holds on two pegs and never stays put on ours. The ramp also comes in sections, but to get the pegs in place, I've had to open it up a bit. The top part (looks like a Tree Fu Bus Shelter) is also held in place by a couple of snap in pegs which are doubtlessly going to snap. The spinner on the shelter is useless as bought, the diagram shows Twigs wedged in by the feet, but twigs doesn't come with the set. Tom's feet are too big to fit.So what's good about the set? The Tom Figure is pretty good. There is a "trail" left by the mushers which are revealed by the "Seeking Crystal" light - in reality I think this is fluorescent int and a UV LED - whatever it is, it's a nice touch. My son also likes the trap door, and playing with the set generally (though as I say, we have other figures). I sadly don'y think it'll survive him to enjoying it for too long.

Quite flimsy, but still a nice play. The slide doesn't get used much as it falls off a lot, As does the Lift on the side, But that doesn't seem to bother my daughter who's nearly 4. The trap door is good feature, and when the slide is on, Tom comes down on his leaf board well! She loves the light up gem, but that now needs some super glue for fixing after a few weeks of play. It's quite expensive for the quality. But as it;s the only tree topolis I could find so didn't get much option to compare.(PS Don't leave the leaf board lying around though, REALLY hurts when you stand on it...That isn't flimsy at all!!)

I had read reviews saying this was a little flimsy but I decided to take the risk. Part of it snapped as we got it out of the box. However, we super glued it and my 4 + 2 years old love it. We bought a bundle of the figures from ebay as it only comes with Tree Fu Tom which isn't clear in the advertising.

Easy to assemble and is very sturdy. It comes with a Tree Fu Tom figure which is a bonus, however he's lost both his arms and the they were only opened at Christmas (and played with a few times).I would still recommend it - my son now has the complete set!

well so far so good. it arrived on time within less than 24 hours which was very good, however its for my nephews birthday so until I open it and find it all in one piece i cant write more than that. looks good fun though

Arrived quickly. My tree fu Tom assessed son is very happy. The slide keeps coming apart which is very annoying but other than that it’s great
