Great Value, Great Support from Klipsch
I am using these speakers for a Bedroom system connected to a Panasonic Blu-Ray Player, DP-UB820. I am using the audio analog outputs of the UB820 in order to use a center speaker with the R-28PF's without a full surround receiver. The Panasonic Player provides 7.1 surround analog audio outputs, which is very unique for a Blu-Ray Player. It is also fairly small, which is why I selected it. I don't have a lot of space for my electronics in my bedroom and didn't have space for both a Blu-Ray Player and a A/V Receiver. I also playback an IPod Touch into the analog input of the R-28PF's.The R-28PF's combined with any Blu-Ray Player with a digital optical output or analog audio outputs make a great package for a fairly simple high quality Blu-Ray audio playback system. Great for CD's too!!! The R-28PF's sound fantastic. I had a pair of Klipsch Sixties in the bedroom for my IPod Touch, which are pretty good, but these are significantly better. The sound is more complete and fills the room better with excellent detail. But after the first day or two of using the analog input of the R-28PF's, the speakers (actually the internal power amp) started to shut off every 10 minutes or so, whether I used my IPod Touch or was playing a Blu-Ray disk. I connected the Panasonic Blu-Ray Player optical output to the optical input of the R-28PF's and it worked perfectly, but I lost the use of my Center speaker. The Panasonic Player will output either digital or analog audio, but not both at the same time. While the R-28PF's are outstanding for stereo and worked perfectly with the digital optical input from the Blu-Ray player, I like a seperate Center speaker in order to adjust the dialgue volume. Without the use of the R-28PF analog input, I could not use a Center speaker. So, I contacted Klipsch. They were a bit back-logged, so it took a couple of days for them to respond ot my email. I eventually called them. They said they had a problem with the auto shut off feature on only the analog inputs of the R-28PF power amp in some earlier versions of the power amp. The digital inputs and even the wireless inputs, don't have this problem. Just the analog inputs have this problem. But they shipped me a new power amp, almost immediately. It arrived in 2 days and was very easy to install. It works perfectly now.So all in all, I am very pleased with the R-28PF's and Klipsch. The speakers look great and sound great and combined with the UB820, I have an outstanding Bedroom system. One more note on the R-28PF's. These have the passive port on the front of the speaker. The newer versions of these Klipsch speakers (non-powered versions) have the port in the rear. For tighter spaces, the front port is better. In my Living room system, I replaced a very old pair of Polk RT-600 speakers with a brand new pair of Klipsch R-28F's. I selected these over R-820F's, RP-280F's and RP8000F's for two reasons. The R-28F's and R-28PF's look and sound fantastic. The build quality is exceptional. The passive port is in the front and not in the back. So, they can be placed closer to the wall behind them. And since the R-28F's and R-28PF's are older models, they are quite a bit less than the newer models. They are an outstanding value.

Just as other have demonstrated, this is a bad product.
Even when this unit worked, the bluetooth has an unwanted "pause" feature where it quickly powers down the amp when it senses silence. The bad result is the cutoff from the beginning of a song, especially when a song has an opening riff that ends quickly, it just ruins it completely. But when working, they work pretty well, the sound was amazing especially when used fora home theater system BUT...Just as other have reported, she died after a short time together. The amp went bad and now I have two expensive paperweights unless I buy a dedicated amp or find a way to make them passive speakers (with requisite crossover hardware.) The 1-year warranty by Klipsch is pretty sad. Elsewhere you'll see 5 year warranties for their products but not for this one. While I hate to disparage a good name, Klipsch really dropped the ball here with astonishly poor end user support.Additionally, I initially positioned these on a brand new table for a bit...when I decided to move them the rubber feet left stains in the wood varnish that I was unable to get out. When I asked them about this they ignored my inquiry. Final review: PAIN.

Excellent choice for TV and Movies over a sound bar
These were a side grade from my current sound bar. (Martin Logan Vision + JL Audio 10" sub). The Martin Logan is an elegant and excellent choice for a sound bar. Ive owned it since 2012 and chose it for its awesome timbre with music and movies and it just looks awesome. However, built a new house and the viewing area became a wide open finished basement. I began to notice the impact and volume limitations of the sound bar in the larger space. So the klipsch R-28PF with horns, bigger drivers, bigger enclosure and plenty more power made my short list. They arrived motor freight. They were well packaged with plenty of molded foam packing to keep them safe. They were unboxed and set up in less than 10 minutes. Dealing with the large boxes and packaging took as long as actually hooking them up. The connection between speakers in done by a proprietary cable. It has an alignment lug, so you cant screw it up. It was long enough to split the speakers between an 80inch wall mount TV, and still have plenty of slack. The set up was so straight forward, the only thing I looked at the manual for was how to turn on the bass management for the sub. So yes, very easy to set up.As for how they sound? They are klipsch horns. They have a distinct sound. Tends to be a love it or hate it proposition for audiophiles. But for those of us with a foot in both camps I love the sound for what it is. To be sure they are very nuanced and very accurate. As soon as they were up and running I started feeding some of my favorite movies scenes through them. I was not disappointed. I heard things in these scenes that the folded motion tweeters on the martin logan just didn't convey (or the lack of power necessary to convey). One scene there was a radio playing in the background of an apartment while the characters were talking...never heard that radio before. James Earl jones (Vader) in Rogue One lecturing Director Krennic, I swear I was in the recording booth with him. Action scenes with gunfire and explosions put that stupid grin on my face. But what about low volumes? watching late night TV while others are sleeping? the klipsch horns do a great job at low volume conveying voices and dialog, while not imparting lots of actual background noise, explosions, and other background stuff. Basically I was pleasantly surprised at this behavior, being able to work well at low volume levels.I have only had them running for a few days. So they still need to break in. The midrange punch and stage should open up more with additional play time.In summary I am happy with the purchase. Are they equivalent to separate amp/pre-amp and say $10,000 towers? No. They aren't marketed to compete against that. But as a value proposition they are a great value for watching TV, Netflix, AppleTV at any volume (nighttime low or silly loud). The only petty complaint I have is the included power cord is rather short. But it is a universal detachable three prong and is easily swapped for a longer one that actual will reach my power center.
