Works for my purposes. Will likely need sharpening often.
I have a number of very expensive German and Japanese knives, but wanted a cheaper knife to be kept in the basement where I grow almost all of our veggies and herbs. Since I often have a table full of tomatoes ripening on a table, I wanted a cheaper knife to keep handy in the basement to core tomatoes as they ripen for freezing. Although I fully expect this knife to require frequent sharpening, the blade should last for a while for coring tomatoes. The blade of this knife is made of stainless steel which does not hold a sharp edge for very long. Let's face it. If you are looking for a high-end knife with a quality blade that stays sharp longer, it's going to cost you a lot more than $9. This knife does come with a protective sheath to protect the blade which I appreciate. This knife was sharp enough, and not dull, when I receive it, and will serve my purpose. Let's face it, you are not going to find a high quality knife at this price. One thing I did notice is that, although easy to use, this knife is heavy for it's size.If it should break, as some reviewers reported, losing $9 is no big deal, but this knife is supposed to have a lifetime warranty. So, I have to wonder why people complaining about it breaking did not request a replacement.Considering the price, I am happy with this knife. I will update this review if my opinion change. I hope this review was helpful for you.

Best $8.95 Knife Ever
I have been unable to find (again) the very nice KitchenAid paring knife I bought a couple of years ago and this Cuisinart version was the closest match. It is really good. Things you want: sharp, long-lasting blade, comfortable and well balanced construction. What I want: forged steel for edge retention and classic construction. The Cuisinart delivers all of these. It worked so well, that I order three more to use in place of my $90 each Wusthof steak knives and they do a great job on steaks. No down-side that I have seen. ***** One reviewer said this knife was available from Walmart for a dollar less. Today, the Walmart price is $19.95,

Sharp!
If you need a sharp knife this is the one! I cut myself washing dishes as we don't have a dishwasher. I just bumped into it with my thumb.

Good value
Good enough for the price. I purchased a manual knife sharpener to keep it sharp. Regarding the blade angle, I contacted Cuisinart customer support, and they advised: "For optimal sharpening, the recommended blade angle falls between 17 and 22 degrees. Using a sharpening tool designed for this range will help maintain the edge and performance of your knives."

Very sharp knife. Easily cut onions and tomatoes and fruits. Very lightweight and good grip. Like the look of the handle. Overall very good!
