Great chiller
The media could not be loaded. Pros: Running a 5 bucket rdwc. 24 gal total. Chills it perfectly set and forget. Very quiet. Water pump is very strong!Con: clear hose allows already to grow if used for hydroponics. Its great and does what it's supposed to!

Works pretty well
I just hooked up this chiller for an axolotl tank I’m setting up. The front cover keeps falling off, so I added a little tape. It’s really easy to set up and select your desired temperature. I’ve had it running for about 20 minutes and it looks like it’s cooled the tank (20 gallons) from 75 to 72. It’s a little noisy, but no worse than a refrigerator running. I actually like the dull noise, but you will hear it running. I feel like it costs a lot for what it is, but it’s less expensive than most chillers. I purchased the 3 year warranty because it had better last 3 years for the money. However, if it doesn’t, I should be covered. Overall, I’m happy with my purchase.

Works properly
Easy to setup. Ready to go. Works as it should. I should have bought one years ago, when I was into hydroponic gardening.

Perfect compact chiller
This arrived nicely, a box in a box In a box. It came with everything I needed to get up and running in under five minutes although I did let the unit sit upright for a few hours. I let the pump run while it was sitting to make sure everything was tight and leak free. I set the temp to 77 to test and once it hit 80 it kicked on and in just under a minute my tank dropped one degree and it cut off. Perfect. As far as noise I could barely hear it, just the two 120mm fans are barely audible and a click from the compressor relay. One thing I do wish it has was a dimmable display and an outlet to connect the pump to but that can get tricky.Note, this is on my 90 drilled with about 10 gallons of water in sump.I did have to adjust the chillers temp down 1 degree to match my other two thermostats. I would also love to see an option for a thermostatically controlled outlet on the chiller that would kick on when the temp reaches the setpoint, this circulations and chilling the water at that moment vs adding another heat producing pump constantly running. That being said I will probably tee off my return line to the chiller and eliminate the extra pump.Update; I ended up plumbing it in as stated and eliminated the additional pump, I then added a simple ball valve to control the flow since water will take the path of least resistance.

Small and under powered
I’m not sure how they come up with a 1/10 horsepower calculation. I bought this for an aquarium and it's nowhere near as good as my active aqua 1/10 that I have on my hydroponics. Spend the extra $150 and skip this.

Keeping It Cool: For Lasers, Fish Tanks, and Sharks with Laser Beams!
I originally got this Poafamx Aquarium Chiller for its conventional use but ended up diverting its services to my laser machine. Living in a garage that's hotter than a sauna in summer, I had my reservations about how it would perform. But boy, was I wrong! The chiller didn't just meet expectations, it went above and beyond.I ran a high-intensity laser job during a sweltering day—mind you, my garage has zero insulation—and the chiller held its own. The water temp stayed consistently around a cool 72F, ideal for the longevity of my laser. I used a simple setup, basically a bucket and pump, fed through the chiller, and voila! Instant, efficient cooling for my laser. So even though it's marketed for axolotls and coral reefs, it handles laser machines with ease, maintaining water temperatures like a champ. This makes it versatile, more than just a one-trick pony. I don't know how it performs for fish tanks, but if you're looking to cool other systems, this chiller is a strong contender. Just goes to show, sometimes products have untapped potential beyond their intended use.
