Buddy Valastro is one of the most successful and renowned cake artists in the United States. Master baker of Carlo's City Hall Bake Shop in Hoboken, New Jersey, Buddy is the cake boss. He supervises a team that includes his mother, four older sisters and three brothers-in-law. And when you're working with family on a daily basis, there is bound to be a lot of drama. Cake Boss is the half-hour series that chronicles Buddy's over-arching desire to achieve his late father's dream of making Carlo's Bake Shop a household name with or without the help of his family.

Something I can watch with my kids!
This is a great show for a few good reasons. First, I can watch it with my kids. Barring the occasional cuss word, and one episode with a customer who was a drag queen, the content is such that I don't worry what my 8 year old is seeing and I don't have to answer any awkward questions.Right. Secondly, Buddy, in his own family business way, is a good leadership role model. He fundamentally cares about his employees (kind of has to because most are his family). Second, he uses fair judgment (most of the time. I couldn't believe he let Mary back in after what she did; forget which season that was). Third, he understands the business and tries to motivate the staff to understand it as well. On some it rubs off, like his brother-in-law Mauro, and on some it falls off. (I'll let you figure out who I'm talking about.)Ultimately, it's a great show and I can usually find a good lesson in there for my kids. What more could a father ask?

Great show. Like "Jersey Shore" for cakes
This is an incredibly addictive show. Like all "reality" shows, I'm not sure that everything that happens in this bakery is real. Do you really believe that Mary is as crazy as she is portrayed in this show? I think that her character has been sculpted in the fine tradition of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" and "Jersey Shore". Namely, she has been molded to increase viewer interest. If you really want to see something crazy, then go and watch Season 1, Episode 5. You will see one of the craziest brides ever.

Cake Boss Season 1
My daughter that was turning 12 requested this as one of her birthday presents that she just had to have. She watches Cake Boss on the Food Network whenever she can, but had missed a few episodes of the first season. She wants to be a "baker" someday and also meet Buddy himself! She LOVES CAKE BOSS, and so does her sister and I!!!!!

Best Cake Show Out There
There are several cake shows out there (Ace of cakes to name one), but this one is by far the best. Cake Boss creates amazing cakes, and the show is fun and safe for the whole family to watch. I would Highly recommend this to anyone that enjoys watching baking shows and anyone that needs creative ideas for creating a cake.
