Excellent value head torches
These head torches from a good known brand are extremely good value as you get 2 for quite a reasonable price. The quality is very good and they feel well made using good plastics and elastic in the head band. The orange and green colour is very different to head torches I've had in the past and may not be to everyone's liking, however I quite like having something different. Each torch takes 3 x AAA batteries and it's nice to see that these are included unlike so many items you buy these days. The torch itself is controlled by a large orange button at the top and this allows you to cycle through the different modes. There are 3 white lights which you can illuminate in different combinations and a couple of red lights to preserve night vision (although this isn't something I could fully test). At maximum brightness the torches are extremely bright and provide excellent light when I'm out walking the dogs late in the countryside where there's no street lighting. The torch can be angled in different positions or unclipped and attached to other items such as clothing. Overall I'm extremely happy with these torches and would highly recommend them.

Well made and bright
A very well-made head-mounted light with a variety of modes - the single on/off switch cycles through them. There is one central spotlight, two less bright lights either side of it and two red LEDS 'to preserve night vision'. I'm not quite sure what the last function is but I presume it is to keep as unobtrusive as possible when using night-vision glasses, but I have no means of testing that out.The light is certainly bright and all parts seem to be very sturdy. The light clips on to the enclosed adjustable headband and it can be angled up away from the headband in a choice of 6 positions. The unit takes three AAA batteries which are included and, since they are made by Energizer, can be assumed to be of high quality. Given that there are two complete units included, this is decent value.

Pack of 2 quality head torches
Energizer Vision HD+ Head Torch, 2 PackThis two pack of Energizer head torches are quite good value, in my view. They come complete with quality energizer batteries and each torch uses 3 batteries. They are well made; the head strap fits well and is easily adjustable. In use they are quite bright enough to work under the bonnet of a car or in any dark places really. I am not sure what the red light ‘Night mode’ does and I have not used it properly.I like these head torches and am keeping the second one as a spare for now, but so far the one I am using is holding up well.

A decent set, but expensive
This is a decent set, particularly as it comes with 6 premium Energiser batteries, but it feels a little out of date. That said, headlights with tilting heads can be very useful when working on something, or even when just walking, and the red light on these headlamps mean you won't trash your night sight if that's important to you.The lights can be set to be red, all the white lights on together, just the centre spot, or just the two outer white lights to give a longer life "flood" effect. The lights are brighter than they look in my photos and would be powerful enough for cycling short distances with, though I doubt the 3 AAA batteries would last too long if used continuously. One irritant for me is the power switch, which I find a bit awkward as it's not prominent, and isn't where I quite expect it to be. So I find myself fiddling around trying to turn the light on instead of just pressing the power button quickly and easily. I'm sure I'll get used to it, but it is an irritant just now.My biggest gripe with these lights, is that this set seems like a really well-made, good performance cheap set of lights, but the set is not at a budget price. £29.54 buys a lot of LED lighting these days, and I don't think these light offer particularly good value for money at that price. If the set price drops to £19.99, add a star to my review score. Right now, at a little under £30, I say shop around.

Well made and with just the right amount of functionality
These headtorches from Energiser are a refreshing change from the sea of strobing nonsense that seems to be so popular recently, these ones offer varying levels of brightness and beam spread with the white LEDs and 2 small red LEDs for preserving night vision should it be required. The light intensity is quite powerful for the size and lights up a good area on full power, the mid settings are more than enough to light up your immediate surroundings adequately and the lower settings are good for close up work to reduce reflected glare. The single headband is comfortable enough to wear and allows plenty of adjustment, the design of the torch attachment bracket allows them to be easily attached to other straps if needed so you could remove the headband and attach them to a backpack or thin belt for example, or even a smaller band for attaching to a bike for emergency lighting. Overall they're a decent pair of headtorches with enough usability to make them a worthwhile consideration, especially if you're a couple and want matching headtorches, because some people like that sort of thing!
